Orctober by Tossu-sama

So, this time of the year has fallen upon us once again.

For the past couple years I've realized it always way too late, like during the last week or something and never was able to produce anything for it. XD

But now I'm actually making an effort to get something orcish up during this month. owo
Started a sketch a while ago but it might suffer from my occassional Cursed Treasure 2 Skyrim sprees. |D

Anyone else planning to get something done?

Ah yes, Halloween's this month, too. I tend to forget it because we don't really do Halloween up here. |D

Ahh. Where do you live? Still, looking forward to the orcs

I live in Finland, we have our own version of trick-or-treating during Easter. :D Although, we have All Saints' Day on November 1 which I guess is pretty close to Halloween?

Ahh, Finland. Yeah, in a way it's close, but sorta bot. Still, fun time to celebrate around the globe. Something about October, early nights, and the general harvest time seems to make it a desirable month. Still, hope you have fun on Saint's Day!

Well, November 1 is Saturday so I don't have to worry about stuff and can just kick back. It's not like it's a huge holiday or anything, it just... is there, doing nothing. :'D We seriously have lot of holidays like that, marked in official calendars and no one cares about them.

I can say we don't have alot personally, but it's still a holiday and an excuse to party a little.. Yeah, we only have a few Americans end up celebrating, but tomorrow is Eid for the Muslim community.

The only holidays that actually get attention here are the ones during which we raise flags to poles. They are considered to be special. One such day is coming up in one week, it's the day of Finnish literature and Aleksis Kivi (quite important Finnish author). Also, kinda tells something about importance that we raise flags during Mother's and Father's Day but not during All Saints' Day. xD

Ahh, sounds like a good idea and all. Now, if only we'd do a literature day here.

Well, honestly we could do better with a Literature Day. Seeing as how the language skills of our people has declined from the time I was a kid... it's just terrible. Then again, I suppose kids these days have better pastime than reading books.

Trust me, America has devolved its language quite a bit

                        • Link

Even as a non-American, I have noticed that. Actually I've had Americans told me that I have much better English than native English speakers, I suppose that should be a warning sign to the education system or something.

                            Yup. It's pretty sad.

Haha, kinda funny that I can already say as a 24-year-old something along the lines of "back in the good old days".
