So, uh, that journal I wrote a few days ago was certainly a thing, wasn't it? I guess I should explain why someone who's generally pretty quiet about most things just started raging at some guy out of nowhere. (Kinda long, sorry.)

First of all, this was not some dumb dick on the internet. I wish this were some dumb dick on the internet. If it was just some dumb dick on the internet I wouldn't have felt as betrayed as I did.

This was a friend I met on a non-furry-related community for a fandom I'm into (the friendship in question started because of our mutual interest in the furry fandom, hence my venting on furry sites in particular). Dude was fun to talk to and we were even talking about a sort of cooperative fan project between the two of us.

(Before I go on, I'd like to mention that, for my own sanity, I will abstain from divulging the specifics of the community, the individual, and what exactly we were fighting about, though I'm sure you can extrapolate some of the argument's nature from the aforementioned journal. Maybe I'll mention the fandom that was the topic of the community but I'd rather just leave it for now.)

But an off-hand mention of a certain fandom-related thing in one of our conversations sent him off on a tirade about how the thing in question was part of some huge conspiracy that went way beyond the fandom in question. (Yes, it was as ridiculous as it sounds; I guess I should have added Crank Magnetism to the list of RationalWiki stuff he should have looked up.) I tried to tell him how stupid the idea was, he got mad, it went back and forth for awhile and we ended up just blocking each other. (The word "sheeple" was used at one point. "Sheeple." You know, internet-kook-speak for "please feel free to not take me seriously at all." Sweet Mary Ra Athena, man.) I was kind of in a bad mood that day so I got more angry than I really should have and decided to go vent elsewhere.

So there's that. I'll probably make another journal later, if only to bump this one. Sorry for the bullshit, everyone.
(I'd still like to recommend RationalWiki to everyone again, BTW. One of my favorite places on the interwebs.)
