Do you know the content rating guidelines? by Sanne

I'm not quite sure why people don't bother reading the guidelines for submissions. It's probably laziness and not caring enough to bother with it, but I think that's very inconsiderate of the community you're in. These guidelines exist for a reason. Besides possible complications with the law if things aren't rated correctly, it can also be bothersome to casual browsers who specifically filter content by ratings to avoid certain things for their own comfort levels - whatever they may be and whatever the reason.

Too often I also hear people saying "It's not a huge deal, it's just ____". Unfortunately, your opinion is irrelevant. You're a guest on the site, you've agreed to follow the rules and rate things appropriately when you signed up and verified your account and began to submit content. I don't think nipples are a huge deal either in non-sexual situations, especially in tasteful art.

I would prefer not having to label my Daily Breast Challenge drawings as mature just because they contain nipples. My challenge actually tries to overcome the taboo of plain, natural female chests to instill confidence in both teens and adults and encourage diversity in artists' works. Labeling my drawings as mature feels wrong as I believe teens in particular need to see this.

But that's irrelevant. The site tells me that anything non-sexual that includes nipples needs to be tagged as non-sexual 18+, so I tag it no matter how I feel about it. I choose to use this site and thus I abide to its rules. I read the guidelines before uploading to ensure I wouldn't accidentally bother anyone with my uploads.

I wish this would be more commonplace. Almost every time I browse the site, I stumble upon wrongly rated content and report these submissions. It should be an exception, not daily routine.

Next time you submit or browser, please ensure you rate it properly or report the submission if it's rated wrong. Most offenders are one-time offenders who didn't realize what they did, so a nudge from the staff should help encourage them, and encourage others to follow their lead.
