This is coming from someone who as a young child was taught those words. It was my job to ignore the bullies, my job to not be offended by them and you know what? I listened because I thought that was how it was. I was young and couldn't see the ill-logic behind the words.

Do NOT teach people this. Do not use it as an excuse to be a bigoted misogynist/transphobe/homophobe/racist/otherwise gross and obscene person. Do not think that just because you can just spout hateful nonsense that it's the victim's job to be the better person and not complain.

Coming from a person who has spent their whole life living by these words, let me tell you something. You know what those words have gotten me? I'm not a happy person because LADEEFUCKINGDA NO ONE CAN OFFEND ME! No. It's turned me cynical, jaded and hateful. It's made me so defensive that I can't take a joke from my own best friend. It has hurt my ability to communicate properly with other human beings because all I realized by it being my job to not be offended, is how many people are out to hurt you. How many people exist just to offend. So don't tell me it's my job to not be offended. It's YOUR job not to be the dick TRYING to offend someone. It's YOUR job not to be a bigoted ass. Man Grow up, grow yourself a decent personality and take responsibility for your actions.
