So I got up to a lovely surprise today. Due to some quarrels that have been going on in my apartment building, some assholes thought it was a good idea to turn all the water on in one of the lower apartments that is directly above my basement storage room. It's most likely a weird, childish revenge for some drug related thing that could probably have ended a lot worse if the tenants hadn't run off. What a mess.
Anyway, it's the same storage room where I've put all our B.I.B.L.E. prints and whatever else we have. According to one of my neighbors who has been keeping an eye on the situation, the water must have been running since sometime during Wednesday, so I'm kind of impressed that the basement wasn't flooded even worse than it was. We only discovered it today because it killed the pressure on the hot water, and left the rest of the building without any hot water. The caretaker who was sent over here to look at it talked about how if they used a different pump system we wouldn't have noticed anything at all, and I was like thank god for old pumps D:
I have spent most of the day hauling things out of the basement and assessing the damage. A bunch of our Rebound books are ruined, but everything considered it isn't That bad. I'm counting on my insurance to cover what damage has been done, it didn't sound like it would be a problem.
In better news I got a job. Haven't signed the contract yet, but it's mine. 4 days a week at a rather good pay so I can actually afford to only work 4 days a week. Very good. I decided not to give a shit about job interview conventions and just be very honest and straightforward about my kind of problematic situation, what with mental illness and all, and everyone I've talked to from this company has been very understanding, so that's great. It will probably kill me for a while, but I sure hope it goes well besides that.
This week has been sooo stressful, way too many things going on. I think I'll try and do a bit of nothing now, thanks u__u

Well, congratulations on the job. That sucks about the basement, though. Was that the entire stock of books that got water-damaged, or just some of them?
