General Rules for Adopts, Preposes, and Auctions by PewterKat

Rules may differ on individual items.

Adopt Rules
1. First come, first serve. I honor claims by the timestamp, whether it’s in a comment or a note.
2. Payment is through PayPal only, please. DO NOT mention you are from FA or are a fur when placing your payment, as PayPal has flagged FA as a porn site, regardless of the nature of the transaction. You have 72 hours to pay. If you cannot pay within that time frame, the character opens up for someone else.
3. For now, there will be no limit on how many adopts can be bought at once, as my adopt sheets vary greatly in size.
4. Unless otherwise stated, you maintain the right to change the gender of any adopt, and cutie marks on ponies. You can also make up anything like clothing and hairstyle for them. Everything else, however, I would more or less like to stay the same, or it wouldn’t really justify the uniqueness of the character anymore.
5. Adopts are Pay-What-You want! For the base price, you will get the original art for the character. Add $8 and you’ll get a ref with a back view, eye and special markings close up, and basic info! And if you request a commission of the character with your purchase, you’ll get 10% off the commission! Some kinds of adopts have their own bundles, and that will be mentioned in their description.
6. If you want a character completely made from scratch, I can do that for you as long as I have a commission slot open. 100% custom characters start at $15 and may go up depending on complexity. They can usually be any rating, and come with a basic ref sheet. If you like a theme of adopts I’ve made, but don’t exactly like how they’re done, you can use that as a base as well!

Prepose Rules
If you cannot pay within that time frame, the slot opens up for someone else.
3. When I say any species, I mean it! Any species is welcome in any of my preposes. I am admittedly better at some than others, but I won’t turn you away if you really want them in there. I tend to draw random species in the poses simply out of habit, so please pay no heed to this and just imagine YOUR character there! :D Once it is sketched, I will send you the preview. If you want me to make any changes, the time is now.
4. Unless stated otherwise, the finished product will be in my current shaded style. If you buy out the entire prepose, you have the liberty of upgrading to painted style, the price of which will be based on the amount of players and activity in the scene.
5. If a prepose has ON HOLD in the title or next to a slot, I am working something out with a buyer or I am awaiting payment. There may be a small possibility that one or more slots may go back up for sale, but please refrain from asking until it’s removed or changed. If it has CLOSED or SOLD in the title or next to a name, that’s it. Do not inquire about it further because the person paid for it and the process has started. If a piece gets enough interest, I might put it up for sale a second time, but most likely, if I do it again, it will be different. This is to avoid burnout.
6. Some solo poses have more than one slot! This means more than one person can purchase the prepose in whatever style they can afford. Solo preposes are usually pay-what-you want, since there is only one buyer.

Auctions
1. All of my auctions are ladder auctions. If the auction is for a prepose, the total combined amount from all bidders will determine the final level of detail, so that several people can get a picture, and also pay what they can afford. The threshold for each picture is dependent on the scene, and will be included in the description of every auction. If the auction is for an adopt, the amount bid will reflect what kinds of extras you get with the adopt. Any adopts I auction are generally of a higher quality than my regular adopts, things I don’t plan to make much of, or things I don’t expect to draw again after.
2. If you do bid on one of my auctions or buy a prepose or adopt, please don’t feel like you are required to watch me. However, everyone is required to treat each other with courtesy and respect, whether they're a regular and a watcher or just visiting. I will not tolerate hate and flaming. Even if you are the high bidder, if you cause trouble I will ban you from auctions, and possibly from any future service.
3. DO NOT EVER retract your bid. Bids are LEGALLY BINDING, no matter where the auction is being held. Please make sure you have the money to spend before you pledge it. It does not only affect me, it affects those who have been outbid as well, or force someone who thought they would lose to have to pick up the slack. I’m usually an understanding person, but if you do this, I will probably have to ban you from any and all auctions in the future.
