This next chapter is gonna be plot heavy but it will have some smut at the end. (I haven't gotten that far yet, but I do have some sloppy smut outlined already :9 )
Anyways this is another chapter that revolves around Kyle, and he's slowly getting more of a personality and a back story. It's not overtly mentioned in this chapter, but his childhood had been pretty solitary. I don't mean that in a bad way, but it makes him a nice foil to John. He and John both didn't have a lot of friends growing up; John because he lived in a house out in the sticks with his mom, and Kyle because he grew up as a latchkey kid (for those wondering that refers to kids who grew up with both of their parents working full time. Basically every day after school he comes home and locks the door behind him. He's effectively isolating himself so he can get by without parental guidance) This sort of explains why Kyle is such a TV snob. He grew up on the stuff. Interestingly enough Kyle and John grew up to be opposites personality-wise. John is very quiet and reserved. He thinks carefully about everything and is hesitant to act. Kyle on the otherhand is very quick to act almost to the point of brashness, and he's pretty in your face about stuff. He's very energetic and outgoing and is quick to make friends. This makes him a little pushy without meaning to.

Another major difference between them is their relationship with their parents. John only ever had his mother, and everything he does is based on whether or not she would approve (which is another of the big reasons that he was so slow to come out. He's afraid of how she'll react.) Kyle on the other hand is extremely independent and doesn't need anyone's approval. That's not to say he hates his parents or anything close to that. He's got a good family life, but he doesn't think about what they would say when he acts.

Kyle's impulsiveness (and I would say even pushiness) will become a major factor in the future chapters. Alan will be rejoining the story soon, but I am not sure what extent his interaction with Kyle will be. They probably won't have a whole lot of screen time together, but their two story arcs will be running side by side and are pretty heavily related to one another.

Anyway I felt like showing some of this story off for those who wanted a sneak peek. It's almost entirely dialogue, and it's actually a couple of short vignettes that string together to make up Kyle's quest.
