Need some help in the 1800's category by dumb.dog

I've watched the Raven about 13 or 14 times now and I couldn't help but design a new girl before I'm even done with my personal sona..

Anyways, Her name is Edgar Allen Doe. (Or what she goes by, her real name is Emily Alondra Doe.) And she doesn't dress like normal Females in the 1800s. She wears capes and cloaks and pants. (Collective gasps) But she's her own personal tailor so she fits them. But one thing, I can't for the life of me think of shoes for her. I don't want loafers but I don't want heels. And her color scheme. Darker colors, or natural doe colors. She is a shadow of Mr. Poe, with the mental disorders, bags under eyes and all. She even has thorns sprouting from her legs. Manages to rid them when she can, though. She doesn't have any pupils. Just a milky white abyss of an eye. Though even the mad can find love. She has a lover/mate by the name of Percy (or Emmet, whichever sounds better.) Let's jump to the middle of their story, shall we?

He is a wolf dog gentleman who may very well be a prince if he wants. All the gentlewoman wonder why he loves her, of all people. A mental illness of an animal, she deserves nothing but the sound of her own voice. He only answers with three words. I love her. He dreads whenever he leaves town. He leaves her with only a lingering memory and a kiss goodbye. Soon enough he returns to find his love, near dead on a park bench (sound familiar?). He takes her into the doctor's hands and paces around the room before.

Wouldn't want to spoil a good story here, right?
I would also like to go with some outfit ideas.

I've been going with a button down under a vest, collar upturned with a scarf-like tie around her neck. Some slacks too I guess? I never really liked pants on hooves, so possibly I can make her wear boots over her pants as if they were skinny jeans.

But
That's about the only outfit I have of her right now.

Also hair.
I don't want to make her look too out of place in the 1800s. But I don't want her hair to be all done and up and stuff. She's gorgeous really, hair or not, but Percy needs something to run his hands through when they make ou- I mean /coughcough/ kiss right? Some hair ideas would be helpful.

So going through that, She needs something morbid to her. Yet mortal. Something, something....

I think that's about it. Any questions would be lovely, any answers to my problems would be beyond greatly appreciated!

(No pupils due to some type of birth defect er something)
