can someone explain to me what exactly they are? i checked the site out and didn't quite understand it, (especially the whole porn isn't allowed and i see people doing it anyway? does that not apply to drawings?) should i do one? would that be something you guys would be interested in? thanks for any comments in advance!

you might be right im not quite as big or as popular as some of the other artists i see doing it, if enough people say they'd support me on it then i might look into it. but if not thats okay too

They don't allow commercial pornography, but furry art is not porn. It's art. Erotic art, but art.
A lawyer could explain better the difference, but essentially, under the law, porn is very narrowly defined.

you offer a service or say what you're going to do either each month or per item, people pay you when you complete the task. people use it either to get paid for stuff they normally do ("I will do two comics per month for $1 per patreon") or to create limited access areas ("gain access to extra art page for $2 a month") or to offer rewards ("Patreons who pay $10 a month get a commission every month") or whatever you can think of, really.
You should do one if you think people will pay you, but if you're only going to get a few dollars from it it's probably not worth the time to set it up and to upload to it. I have no idea about the 18+ content, I didn't know they had an issue with it as most of the stuff I see on there is smut anyway haha
