Well, not entirely sudden... I've known for a while that we were going to remodel the middle bedroom so that my grandmother could come live with us (because there's not enough crazy under this roof, we need to add to it).

The first day we moved all the stuff out of there. Now this room was being used as a library before, so that was 19 boxes of books just to start.
Then I demolished the built in bookshelf. I was quite surprised to find that the previous owners had used both screws and nails in the same shelf and there was no particular pattern to it. We also discovered that they had not taken out the carpet before putting the bookshelf in... hell they hadn't even cleaned up! There was a bullet just laying under there!
Anyways, so there were two different carpets (at some point they had changed from golden rod to beige). That was the next task. My mom and I ripped out the carpet and pulled up the carpet tacks.

Now we're getting to the hard parts.
The previous owners had taken the closet from the middle room and added it to my room. So we've torn out most of the drywall on that side and are trying to figure out which half belongs where.
On top of this, the idiots had made a total mess of the studs. They even cut into one to add an outlet...

Honestly, this house is a mess.

But now I have less time for art as I am needed to do a lot of the physical labor.
