Productive heatwave, trial version by DeRiften

I wasn't as productive as I wished this weekend. Sure, I worked on stuff quite a bit but I couldn't focus much because of the sudden heatwave that's popped up a few days ago. I mean ffs, it's 34C/93F right now, and it's freaking night. Ended up playing The Last Remnant all of Saturday and Sunday, but by Monday I needed the break so I looked for videos but couldn't find any, so I figured I might as well play another game I got during the summer sales (I got my badge on the very last day, btw) but launched The Wolf Among Us by accident instead and... well it's pretty dang good. The final episode should actually come out this week, too, which is pretty good timing and a nice coincidence! But yeah, Telltale games don't take a long time to complete (even though they have multiple paths and a big replayability value), so I started looking for stuff to do again and boom, new friend! We chatted while I resumed my work and we continued chatting today while I kept working and watching YouTube videos at the same time, so I've had a pretty good day. Well, aside from having to do the groceries in 40C/104F... on run-outta-everything week... on Canada day when everything is closed. Yeah, even the restaurants were closed so I thought I was screwed but miraculously, the grocery store was still open AND the food place inside of it was, too. Didn't help much, though, since what they serve is frozen and tastes like cardboard and they have no beverages. Oh well, I couldn't afford to be picky in this heat and the cold was welcome, at least. Plus it wasn't as expensive as fast-food, which says a lot about its quality (or lack thereof).

My work's not advancing as well as I'd thought. I'll finish my rendering homework tomorrow since come on, it's rendering and everything about that class is easy and ridiculous (which says a lot since you know how terribad I am with art stuff). I started collecting sounds for my audio project and I'll start modifying the musics tomorrow to make it interactive, but I'll be doing the Wwise stuff during class and keep the home work to a minimum since we have two full classes dedicated to it and I won't have anything to do if I finish it too soon (ironic, isn't it?). I also wanted to print and prepare my analysis project but my Rational Software Architect trial version's run out so I can't access the project, meaning I'll have to do it at school before class tomorrow. After that I'll review the project so I know what to talk about during the spoken presentation, but it still sucks that I have less preparation time because of a license issue (and I don't really feel like paying I think 15 000$ for one. I'm not even kidding).

Speaking of licenses! I don't remember if I told you, but Unity's Wwise integration requires Unity Pro, which we don't have at home. I've been in contact with my one teacher who actually works there but it doesn't seem like he can do much for us, other than give us a students discount that makes the price go down from 1 500$ to 150$, which is actually really dang good. I might get it next semester but for now, I think I'll work on my audio project during classes and if those aren't enough, then I'll just download the 30 days trial version to finish it at home at the last minute. Yay for trials!
