Submitting proposal for the PCA/ACA Conference by Slaughts

Usually I don't do submissions for conferences because I don't think my work is that good. However, this time around I decided to send one to the Popular Culture Association/American Cultural Association for their 2013 Conference in Washington D.C.. I decided to do mine over video games and the paper will be titled "The Critique of Social Psychology of Modern Shooter Games in Spec Ops: The Line". I have to say, that game really made me start thinking about the genre as a whole and while I've heard a few podcasts about it, I haven't seen much scholarly work on this subject (even on shooters in general) so maybe I can break some new ground here. I have to wait about two weeks before they give me a yes or no. If yes, I go to the conference in mid-late March and present my paper to pop culture academics and students and it will possibly be published into a journal.

I'm excited and hope it gets accepted. Wish me luck guys.

I hope it does, too - and would you be willing to share the paper here? Or is there a rule against it?

I am not sure, but to be on the safe side I will keep it in my personal files until I find out otherwise.
