This is Palestine, a domestic long-haired female cat, about 5-6 years of age. Her owner is currently going through a divorce, and had to move suddenly. The location he's moving to does not allow indoor pets, and his wife, the one who wanted the cat and got her originally, now wants nothing to do with Palestine. I am taking care of her until I can find her a good home and/or get her taken to a shelter to be adopted.

Palestine is declawed in the front, and unfortunately, the back. She is spayed, but not vaccinated. As you can see from the photos, she does have some minor matting and needs to have her fur brushed (which she does not like), but otherwise, she is in good health. She's shy at first, but friendly towards people within minutes of meeting them. She can be sweet and may sometimes come up to you and rub up under your hand, and she's been sleeping with me on my bed since the second night she's been with me. However, she does also need her space. There are times she does not want to be petted and will try to bite if you reach toward her, though she does not bite hard from what I've seen, and will calm down once you give her the space she wants. She tends to be somewhat talkative, and often meows very quietly. I believe she can become a good companion for anyone who has respect for her, though young children will have to be cautioned and monitored around her.

She does not get along well with strange cats, but I believe with some patience, she could be adopted into a home that already has cats. When another cat is introduced, she will growl and hiss continuously until the strange cat either stops approaching her or leaves the room altogether. She has not displayed any violent behavior towards other cats, but rather, prefers to back away when any strange cat tries to come close. With time, she has been shown to become gradually more tolerant of other cats. I am unsure of how she behaves around dogs.

I have a food bowl and possibly a litter box she's already used to that I can give to whoever adopts her. If anyone near the Azle/ Lake Worth/ Fort Worth area of Texas is interested in adopting her, or if you know anyone near that area who may be interested in adopting her, please contact me in private. If you could share this, I would greatly appreciate it!
