I'm not one for the gender inequality bandwagon, I usually just push through and do what I can to make a difference when the opportunity arises, more than talking about it (I'm an actions speak louder than words person). But I was shown an article by Lexi Alexander, and she's amazing. She's a female director, and talks about the inequality honestly, openly, and without creating a blame game on "white men". She also does not put the blame game on the few powerful women in Hollywood. Why? Because it's not their responsibility, it's everyone's. It's a joint effort to make a change. Yet it's also odd that in over 35 years nothing's changed in the numbers- though I think part of it is because those who started it during a period of segregation of women and minorities are still in charge, refusing to change because of ideals and thoughts that are outdated, so the younger more accepting generations haven't infested the studios with logic and diverse ideas.
Anyway, she's got references, links, ideas, examples...

She also links to Include Gender, a working plan with resources to reduce inequality developed by Sweden. Lexi clearly does her research and if anyone isn't sure how to fix this, boom. There you go.
