what kind of camera should I get? by spoonface

I want to get a decent beginner friendly camera to take pictures of misc. stuff like architecture, animals (especially birds), sky, stuff like that, and on the fly, for inspiration and colour balance ideas (I’ve had a lot of cloud/sky pictures turn out flat and stuffy with my cellphone camera…)

you have any recommendations that’d be within a reasonable price range? (~200 euro)

    What's "reasonable"?

I've got a nice Canon point-and-shoot (320S, I think), but Sony makes the best PAS on the market, if you're willing to drop about 700$. At that price you might want to look into used Canon Rebels.

Definitely recommend looking at this guide.

200 euro is about the most comfortable maximum price at the present but I could save up money. xD

      Thanks for the recs!

well if you want to take pictures of birds, you'll probably need a zoom lens!
and Canon Digital Rebel XT is a good older camera. you'd probably need to find a zoom lens and those can be about 200 on their own.

yeah I've considered saving up money for a bit higher end camera, nothing too fancy, but good enough to take pictures of birds with. thanks for the recommendation!

yeah, I have a sony a290. it's pretty old now and kinda low end and I can really tell that when I use my friend's camera. ;o; but it does it's job haha. 200mm lens and above would be good for birds, but nothing you gotta be too close, too. unless you wanna focus on someone's nostril hairs.
