Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Y'know, today is the day to think about everything you are grateful for. All the positives you have in your life, no matter how big or small. I have a lot of wants, but for today, I'm going to put those aside and focus on what I have.

I am first and foremost grateful that I am not homeless, because I would be had I not met my girlfriend and moved in with her in June. I have food, clean water, I'm warm, I'm safe, and I have my beautiful girlfriend to keep me happy and to give me love. I'm also grateful that I've had this week alone with her, so we could de-stress and relax after being quite tense and edgy for the past few weeks. I'm grateful I had enough money to buy us dinners besides the ramen her mother left us, including a ham that we will cook tonight for our Thanksgiving dinner. I'm grateful that all my friends, and my mother and uncle, are still alive and well. I'm grateful that I might have the chance to see an old friend near Christmas time, and that I am slowly beginning to get more friends in this area. I'm grateful I have the internet, so I can keep in contact with people, and share my artwork, and look up new recipes and ways to use things I wouldn't otherwise know how to. I'm grateful that I'm still alive, myself, and that my past is my past, and nothing more today. There are no remnants, even, besides reminders that what I am dealing with today is nothing compared to what I've dealt with before, and that things do change, even when it seems impossible. Miracles happen. Just believe in the light in this world. I'm grateful for my talents, and that even if its harder to get a job here, I escaped the city I always hated living in, and the bad connections I made before.

I hope that all of you out there can find things to be grateful for, even if its just the good food you should be eating today, or the clothes on your skin. There is always good in a situation if you look for it. There can be no light without darkness, and vice versa.

I gotta go find out how to make egg toast.
