Flight Rising: Clans and favorite dragons? by Rooc
I'm curious as heck and kinda pumped about this game (it's easy to figure out, has neat things, and I'm guessing things have improved since that one-unpleasant-thing-that-happened happened).
Which clan did you choose and why?
What dragon is your favorite?
Anything else I should know?
I was pretty torn between the Arcane and Plague clans. I loved the dreaming and mystical aspect of the Arcane, and I loved the survivalism and celebration of the life/death balance in the Plague clan, but in the end I chose the Fire clan 'cuz I adore orange eyes haha (and then I don't have to chose between the other two that I really really liked - I may switch sides later if I can, if I really feel compelled to).
The Snapper is my favorite dragon. I found the joy of the trading post and bought two cuties (took me a while to realize I could buy dragons, oops).
Currently I'm just exploring and figuring out how stuff works. No clue on what to do with materials other than sell 'em, no idea how the battling function works, and I want more dragons haha.

I agree with the Plague clan haha it was a tough choice to make ;;
Ridgebacks are another I like! Not sure what the imperials look like though.Ahh yeah, I read that there is something planned for materials but nothing is going right now so selling seems to be the way to go.

Which clan did you choose and why?: I chose lightning! It was a close tie between that and Arcane, but I heard Arcane wasn't as active as Lightning. I love the mystical arcane as well, and I've always been attracted to magicy things! Lightning appealed to my more "gotta get stuff done, be efficient, be amazing!" side, so it won over. Pink eyes are cute, but I think the lightning blue matches more dragons!
What dragon is your favorite?: I really like Ridgebacks and Skydancers!
Anything else I should know?: Keep materials! Go to Crim's collection cart and sell them there in the trading post. She buys them for more, even if it is a random chance she will want it. Also go see Pinkerton as well, he gives you a free item each day. Sometimes you get apparel from him! Swipps swap is good too, but dat Crim dolla. Yuh!
Heehee, I have yet to find a snapper I wanted to keep, but they are cuties!

The eyes are what gets me, definitely my weakness haha. Kind of a shame Plague is red - it just seems kinda..cliche << Orange is my favorite though ~
I managed to scrap up enough for some cute snappers. Waiting for 'em to grow up/cooldown gets me though D:

I chose Light for the sort of spiritual purity that element usually represents, even though FR's lore is more about being scholarly... that works too.
My favorite breeds are Guardians and Pearlcatchers.Battling is kind of a slog when you first start out because even the moths will destroy your dragons and you have like zero abilities. Here are some quick tips:
It's not a good idea to spread your dragons' stat points evenly. When they level up, focus on just a few attributes. Most folks seem to like a 4:2:1 ratio of Strength, Quickness, and Vitality for physical attackers. For magic users, same ratio, just with Intelligence instead of Strength.
If you want a tank dragon that can take hits, don't worry about Defense or Mind (I guess they're bugged and don't work as well as they should?) Just put their points into VIT to increase their HP.
Until you level up enough to unlock more abilities, just scratch the crap out of those moths and return to the menu if it looks like you might lose!-
Ahh ok, that makes sense. I just tried out battling and it's simple enough but yeah, dang those monsters are boss D: I like that I can have use three dragons to battle though.
Pearlcatchers are so pretty as well ;;

I chose Arcane because of it's connection to dreams, magic, higher learning, and the color pink, haha.
Also, if you read thebackstory to the game the arcane dragon's origin is just so mysterious and interesting.My favorite dragon breeds are skydancers, snappers, and wildclaws!
Tips for starting- Make good use of the Scrying Workshop. It will be extremely helpful in breeding dragons with the colors you desire, and it will let you see whether two dragons are available to breed or not. Before this we used to rely on Trollslum to predict colors, it's still handy sometimes. And pair off all your dragons with familiars ASAP, the rewards start small but become massive later. Other than that, remember to have fun! :>

Completely missed reading the story, thank you for linking me! I'm really loving the whole history and lore about this game haha.
Oh yes I've been having lots of fun with the Scrying thing - so many pretty potential babus o3o Aand I've been looking at familiars..attempting to find them haha. What exactly do they do?
Also - Snappers ftw!

Familiars are little mini-pets for your dragons! They drop sometimes in the Coliseum, you can find them in treasure chests, or buy them from the Marketplace or other players.
You can visit your dragon's page to bond with their familiar once every day. At first it only gives you a little bit of treasure, but the payout increases with time. Each time the familiar levels up, you get a treasure chest, and those get better over time too!-
I just found one while battling last night and I like 'em already! xD

What dragon is your favorite? I like tundra because I'm in love with mammalian-type dragons XD

I honestly chose Wind because the deity was GORGEOUS and being in that clan makes your dragons' eye colours the most beautiful shade of green. And I can't help but be torn between the Spiral dragons and the Imperial dragons, with the Pearlcatchers right behind those two.

The eyes colors are so lovely - I'm really glad we can get dragons from other clans haha I don't have a wind dragon yet but I need one. Imperials are so pretty ;;

Which clan did you choose and why?
Plague, because of the whole thing with rotting stuff and the plaguebringer looks pretty sweet. I thought about being in the shadow clan but I can't argue with rotten stuff.
What dragon is your favorite?
Mirrors, ridgebacks and imperials.
Anything else I should know?
With the materials, you can collect enough of certain ones and have them traded for things at swipp's swap stand, that's all I know of with them. I usually just sell them.
