Well…that was the creepiest thing I’ve ever heard. 0.o

We live on a main street. Hearing sirens and stuff going by regularly isn’t unheard of.

But it has been fairly silent for about half an hour. Then, suddenly, out of nowhere, I hear what sounds like an ice cream truck speaker, playing old calliope music, with the battery run down so it’s all slow and creepy.

I hear it drive by the house, and I literally can’t make myself move the blinds to look OUT for fear of what I’ll see (and I have no idea WHAT I was afraid of, either). And it drives by and fades away.

For a moment, I thought I fell asleep in my chair and had a nightmare. So just for my own piece of mind, I say aloud, “Did anyone else just hear that creepy calliope?”

My wife had her headphones on. She didn’t hear it. Her brother's boyfriend WAS in the room, however. And he looks at me, nods, and starts humming what I just heard, looking just as freaked out as I am.

So yeah, both of us heard it. It was real.

And now, suddenly, normal traffic has resumed.

I feel like I just visited the Twilight Zone.
