Hype, Chinese food, spanking and good grades by DeRiften

Now that all the exams and quizzes are over, today was pretty relaxing despite being maths for eight hours and waking up with my butt hurting as if I had been spanked repeatedly with a paddle in my sleep. I also had a huge craving for Chinese food today, so I got some for lunch... and for supper. Thankfully the restaurant I go to is cheap AND delicious, plus they really know how to fill a plate. We've finished the hard/boring stuff in maths and started seeing matrices, which I saw before in practical computer maths waaay back in 2009. You know, that class where my average was 98% because it was so easy and fun. I mean come on, matrices are tables. The end. Wanna add/subtract numbers from different matrices? Just do it, there's no twist. Wanna multiply/divide? Sure it's a little trickier, but it's still amazingly simple compared to multiplying/dividing different vectors. And... that's pretty much it; matrices are all we have left to see before the final exam. I also received my note for the super-hard quiz we did yesterday... 28/30. NOW I'm 100% sure that's the highest note in the class since the average hovers around 56%. Man, I'm just doing great! So far I'm in the median in practical vector algebra (79%), 13% above it in initiation to video game development (83%) and 7% in objects-oriented programming (85%). Everyone in the class would like to know their notes in algorithms & data structures, but the teacher doesn't have Internet at home because he's addicted to it and can't get his life in order, and at school he has better things to do (read play DOTA 2 and eat). Hopefully I don't have him again next semester.

Oh well, after eating supper in the break between the two classes, I experimented some more with Unity3D and managed to make a meteor and a torch, so I'll add in in my to-do list: "Add crashing and crackling fire audio" :3. In the practical part of the class, we only saw a little bit of theory before the teacher gave us this week's project, so I left around 7:00pm and spent all evening working on it. It's already almost done and I only have a few things to fix before adding in extra things and experimenting with it to try and make it cooler... is what I'd usually say but I suddenly have a lot of homework to do so the experiments will have to wait. I need to read 29 pages and do exercises for my next maths class, and I also have to make an actual game of Snake. This is gonna be... freakin' awesome! I mean hot dang, I'm already making an actual game! And more importantly, I've learned enough useful things to actually have an idea how I'd go about making it, and it's only been a month. After two years of college in computer science, I still didn't have a single clue how video games even worked, and I could make calculators and shit.

It took me two years to finally get into that program, so I'm not about to fail it. I'll keep doing my best, not be lazy, experiment a lot, study a lot and rake in the great grades!
