Rejoicements, disappointments, appointments, birthdays and way too many things by DeRiften

Ohey, I'm not dead yet! I know I said I'd do a weekly update but last week nothing happened so I figured there wasn't much use, but this week some things happened so why not? First off, I've been having appointments left and right so I brought sammiches with me half of the week since the appointments were around 3:00pm. First I had an appointment with my personal adviser because she said she was the one who takes care of specialized aids and stuff like that, but nope. She referred me to the real responsible so I took another appointment with that one, which I got the day after. That day, I gave up trying to get an appointment online with financial aids since I've been trying literally every day since February 18th but there was never any eligible spot. I went to the secretary and said I wanted to see the financial aids chick without an appointment, and that's when she told me that they'd been lacking a financial aids guy for over a month so nobody was taking care of that. She then gave me the number to a temporary adviser so I called her and finally someone answered, so I could finally try and fix the money issue. See, it was the 20th and I STILL hadn't received the money I was supposed to received on the 1st. No grants, no Programme Reussir, just normal social welfare (which I wasn't even supposed to get). Ends up they had me on suspended for some reason so I got it lifted, and that same day I finally got a call from the Programme Reussir guy. Ends up all these messages the secretary said she left to him and that I was on the priority list and he was guaranteed to call me within a day or two? Like, for a month? Well, he never received a single message so the secretaries do absolutely nothing at all except waste people's time. Also, the reason he called me is that he realized he made me sign the wrong forms so that's why I didn't get any money and got social welfare instead; I wasn't officially in Programme Reussir. So I took an appointment with him and on the 21st, which coincidentally was my birthday, I had received my grants money, signed the right forms and finally cleared my credit card after almost a year of struggling because of the Paypal fuckup... only to find out that it got hacked and leaked credit card info 'cause someone in a Florida bank withdrew 450$ from my credit card the same exact day. Thankfully I'm fully insured against fraud so I didn't lose anything and I'll receive my new card this week, but still, not a cool birthday gift. I got cooler gifts, though, like a laser printer from my mom! Downside is that the USB cable to actually connect it to the computer isn't included, for some obscure reason, so I had to spend a measly 1$ and it'll be another 3-4 weeks before I can try it out. Also, ZoeyAnelyn ZoeyAnelyn drew me a pretty nice picture (even though she got the colors wrong :P) so this makes up for it.

School-wise, studies are going pretty well. We've finished getting everyone on the same level C++-wise so this week we have lots of exams and next week, we should learn some specialized stuff and maybe even some actual video game programming (though I've already made tic-tac-toe and towers of Hanoi games, plus conceptualized Snake and Duck Hunt). I'm having lots of fun so far, it really isn't disappointing like computer science was! Also, there's a lot less homework than I thought there'd be; I still have lots of time to play games! Though nowadays, I don't really know what to play, other than DC Universe Online and other small, casual games. I guess that'd the downside of all these studies, I'm too tired to play games that require some actual effort.

Oh, and I'm supposed to get my new glasses this week, I can't wait!
