How's everyone doing? It's been nearly a month (again) since my last journal entry, so I figured I'd make another. Because why not? (on Weasyl and Fur Affinity, it will be over a month. :P)

The inspiration bug has hit again, and I used it to capture my muse and shackle it to the table. It's allowed out for walks, but that's about it. I'm heavily into the fifth draft of the Battle for Dyndengar. It's receiving a major overhaul since the last draft, since bits and pieces added and remove have left dregs from as far back as the first draft. No updates on Blood, Sweat and Tears or Speedy Delivery so far. However, I'm over a chapter into The Mercenary's Axe, Avril's story.

You may have noticed that my deviation count has dropped. I recently removed some more older work, and am slowly working toward leaving only the latest few hundred uploads in the gallery. Don't fret! If you're missing, or want to see some older artwork, just send me a note and to the best of your ability, describe the picture you'd like reuploaded.

Away from the computer, I've been reading. I've been keeping a Goodreads account, though have fallen behind in books. I set myself a challenge of 50 books for the year (approximately one a week), and am on my 11th at the moment. By fallen behind, I mean I dropped from "4 books ahead" to "you're on track!" At the moment, I'm reading the Night Watch series. I love Terry Pratchett's work, and just adore how comedic, yet real his world is. So far, he and R.A. Salvatore are two writers I've realised actually inspire me to work harder at my own stuff, and show me things about writing I rarely find in other works. For example, Pratchett's books contain a lot of social commentary, and are able to tell you everything without using many words. THAT'S what I call good writing. The reader should form an image in their mind from the text, not be told exactly what's where in the room, or the way characters say things. You pick that up from a good chunk of dialogue, and keep in mind, the dialogue MUST further the story. You can't just have a couple of people talking about something that has no relevance to the story whatsoever.

The jobsearch is going okay. I'm keeping tabs on new places I can try for, and looking at various databases and newspapers to see if anyone's offering a spot. Unfortunately, most of what's available at the moment is beyond my qualification level... and everywhere else is laying off its staff after the Christmas sales... But hey, one of these days I'll find a place.

I'm off to another furmeet this Saturday! And as a bonus, one of my (newly-discovered) favourite food-vendors, Breadtop, is having a special this weekend. There's a Breadtop two floors below where the meets usually happen, and $10 Australian will get you four rather large treats (you go in, help yourself, and pay for what you get). They deal in both savoury and sweet buns.

Well, that's all for now, I think. Don't be afraid to drop me a line. My Skype, as always, is driphtyrtaigur (I prefer typing to voicing), my Steam is drifterwolf51, and my facebook is driftertiger51 - or just search for Vega Strypes or David Roach, using this avatar. My Fur Affinity and Weasyl are both Driphtyr, and if I haven't deleted my Inkbunny, so is it. Bye for now!
