Video game concept: "Adrift" by Myuphrid

I'm probably not the sort of person to put ideas for video games into practice, let alone into production, but nonetheless I've thought up this little idea, and I thought I might run it up the flagpole and see if anyone tugs its forelock.

Anyhoo, Adrift would be a first-person shooter/puzzle/survival game - the basic idea is this: you're alone on a derelict space vessel in the middle of nowhere, and it's up to you to figure out a way off the ship and home. The situation is primarily complicated by the poor condition of the ship, so you'll have to contend with such issues as depressurised sections, power outages, malfunctioning equipment, radiation leaks and the like. In order to deal with these problems, you'll have multiple options - for example, a player may get through a stuck door perhaps by forcing it open, or by repairing it, or by crawling through Jefferies tubes into the next room, or by finding an airlock and suiting up for EVA, or by cutting through a bulkhead with a plasma torch... in short, puzzles will be open to creative solutions. Whatever situations may arise, you have access to the ship's systems and equipment to meet them. You move through the ship and collect supplies with which to prepare for the journey home.

In order to make every playthrough a unique experience, the ship you're on is randomly generated for each game, so no two maps will be entirely alike. The thing is, the layout of the ship won't the only malleable quality. The provenance and predicament of the ship is also subject to change. One playthrough might see your exploration craft crashed on an asteroid, another might see you fighting scavenging mercenaries on a derelict space station, yet another might see you fleeing from nefarious aliens intent on vivisecting or assimilating you. Just as much as your environment might be different, so too are your challenges.

So there's my idea. Feel free to tell me what you think, or pose me questions about it. Who knows, maybe in a few years I'll be trying to get you to buy it on Steam!
