Hobbies by insanejoker

So I'm thinking about picking up a hobby. I really like wire jewelry, so I thought I'd try it out. I'm looking for something that I can just sit down and play with without too much effort or hundreds of tools and the like. I know wire jewelry needs the pliers and stuff, but outside of that it seems fairly inexpensive to start to play with. I was trying to find some beginner kit, but I couldn't find a decent one. XD I also like how polymer beads look - but that might be a bit out of my realm of interest. I'm not a good sculptor. I need a lot of practice ._.

So I got a venus fly trap seedling instead of a hobby kit thing. And I want the butterfly habitat. I want to raise butterflies. It'd be so neat. I've done it a few times before when I was younger. It's 9 bucks at Michael's on clearance. And its 5 bucks to get the catepillar. AHH. I don't have room for them though XD And the b/f isn't fond of that idea.

Are there any other hobbies out there? I'm considering crochet or sewing again...but sewing means finding a joann fabric's and that can get pricey. I also like book making / binding. I just don't know where to get those supplies, either.

That's a tad too much for me and requires a bigger clean space than what i.have available to me D:

I've been trying to pick up sewing, myself, but it's just so expensive for fabric. And, if you mess up during the process, you can pretty easily be SOL and out of expensive fabrics.

I've been making jewelry out of sculpey, though. Or just little sculpey statues and stuff, in general. I sculpt them out of plain white, and then paint them with acrylics.
That doesn't require a whole lot of room, or tools, or such (depending on your sculpting process, I guess). It's also not super expensive, if you don't make huge things. (I personally don't. My stuff tends to stay in the 1 - 2'' range.)
Acrylic paints and sealer also tend to be fairly cheap, or the kind that I get are.
Might be an idea worth considering.

You might not consider yourself a good sculptor, but neither did I, until I got into it. Just gotta practice and develop a feel for it.

Haha yea, I attempted sewing for a bit. I want to try to make my own clothes and such but like you said, it can get expensive. XD

I forgot about sculpey, and the white type at that. They do sell those in tiny packets. HMM. That might be a lot easier. I can make little skulls. :3 Thank you!!
