The downfall of PC games and uprising of retro games by DeRiften

Hey, I'm not dead! It's just that with my classes, I'm too tired when I come back home to write journals so from now on, I'll probably post a weekly update instead of daily, unless something really important happens. So far, I really love my classes, though as I said, I come back home exhausted. I get lots of homework so in the mornings and afternoons before class, I don't have much time to play video games; though I've been streaming a game of Age of Empires II HD here and there when I can afford at least two hours. Downside is that since the new expansion came out, I've been having lots of issues with crashes and bugs and lag and black screens and whatnot. I dunno if it's related to Twitch though I doubt it, but it's not really fun to have the game crash on you after you're two hours into a game and have to restart from the beginning. To counter this, when I crash near the end of the map, I just use cheats to pass to the next map but by doing that, I can't get the achievement so it's not a win-win situation... I really hope they fix it. I posted a thread in the support section and the devs seem surprisingly eager to fix my issues so I have hope. I've also popped up in Final Fantasy XIV for the first time in I think two weeks, and they finally fixed my bugged SCH questline; it only took over a month. Thing is, now I didn't receive my five months subscription goodies so I opened a brand new ticket; hopefully I'll get it in... over a month! But... frankly I'm getting bored of the game, that forced two weeks break really did some good. It's gotten repetitive and it takes them way too long to add new content (every season or so) and when they do, I've usually checked all the new content within the week so it's back to doing my daily dungeons and leaving to play another game. It's just not fun anymore, so I figured I'd play this one game I got not long ago instead, Kingdom of Amalur. It has the potential to be a great game but not only are the graphics subpar for a game its age, they made it third-person only and that's a huge gamebreaker for me. It completely ruins all manner of immersion and adds a heap of camera issues that make the game disorienting and confusing to play. Also, Mighty Quest for Epic Loot's gotten stale since 99% of players have the same castle setup that exploit OP things like Zekes, gelatin walls, springboards, fire mines and ballistic cannons, plus leveling is so long I've had time to max everything I can possibly buy and still cap my money/lifeforce and I'm not even halfway to the next level, so that game's a nope till the next update comes in. Same goes for GunZ 2, which not only broke itself with its latest update, but got invaded by hackers and been made unplayable.

So yeah, PC games aren't going so great for me these days, but I finally received the new battery for my PSP! I get the feeling I'll be playing quite a bit of Final Fantasy I/II/III/IV for a while.
