+++Flennecs are a CLOSED species created and owned by me, seiokou/Amber Marie Young.+++

Special Characteristics:
Flennecs have very special chest fur (referred to as their "heart fluff"), it actually grows from their soul core, basically their heart, located in the center of their chest, and wraps around the rest of their upper body. Because this fur comes from their soul core, it's look gets influenced by their personality, so the patterning and colouring can actually say a lot about an individual Flennec. Because of this, they can judge a lot off of one another just by looking at another's heart fluff, including age! The length of the fluff is usually a good judge on how old they are, unless their fluff has been shortened from an accident. Flennecs hardly make noise unless in danger, since they can tell so much about themselves through their heart fluff alone, they do most communicating through reading eachothers' conditions and body language. A Flennec's core is so important, because it functions as both a brain and heart in one, and keeps them existing, that if the core ever leaves their body without keeping contact with their own body, their entire body will immediately disintegrate. Though if the core remains unharmed, after time, it can regrow into a new body as child.

Diet:
Flennecs actually eat minerals, surprisingly enough, flowers for their pollen aswell. Most eat soil, sand, and gravel, but supernatural Flennecs are known for eating only meteorites, ans other precious minerals, like crystals and metals. For water, most will drink out of whatever source they can find, ocean water being their favourite, while Supernatural Flennecs will only drink out of springs, waterfalls, and cold/frozen mountain water sources, their favourite is getting to eat the snow or ice.

Mating/Courtship:

Reproduction:
What Flennecs do to reproduce is, after courtship and finding the right suitor, they cuddle and nuzzle a long time with their cores exposed, so that their cores rub off enough onto the other where it creates an imbalance in their core's information/coding/genetics, that it begins to grow exponentially for the next few weeks. Once the core gets large and heavy enough, about 50%-75% larger, a third of the core splits off from itself, just like how a bacteria does to reproduce. After this happens, the Flennec will go into a sort of "labored" state, feeling and acting like it's suddenly been poisoned, because it's basically their body rejecting the new second core in their body, no Flennec can ever handle having two cores in their body at once. After the Flennec gets their barring, they will go to wherever they've built their prepared nest and sit down leaning towards the floor, and once comfortable, they will pull the new core out of their chest and place it in the center of their nest. Afterwards most Flennecs are too exhausted to anything but fall asleep ontop of their newborn. As the days go by, the newborn will slowly grow outward from the core into it's new body, as the parents guard it sleeplessly until it has finally grown into it's own body. Because of how this concepttion stage goes, it is rather common for both parents to end up baring a child, though Flennecs never bare more than one, themselves.
