I acquired a larger cage and I made the comment that maybe in the future if I feel Nimbus needs it I'll get her a "boyfriend" as of right now that is not the case.

People seem to think I'm going to rush out and get a second bird and keep asking me when or what kind.
No... currently for a long while I will not get a second bird. Nimbus spent the majority of her short life in an overcrowded cage in an overcrowded rescue and had made it clear to the rescue she was unhappy with other birds in her territory. She enjoys the birds outside and maybe someday will enjoy talking to another bird who lives in a separate cage across the room but NOT in her territory.

I'm expanding her territory by giving her a larger cage but until she tells me she is lonely with her actions I will not put another bird into her home. As of right now she is content, this weekend she will move into her larger cage. I'm hoping she takes the transition well and enjoys the room to fly a bit and explore. She will have her own personal bird bath instead of a tiny water dish. This expansion of her cage is for her benefit, not for mine or for a second bird.

Please stop asking when I'll get another bird.
