Thumbnails can be automatic, I've seen.
Maybe you say that, because they take the middle, where generally you find the most interesting features? ;)

I hate how so many crop it to a face and show zero detail of what the actual image content is. u_u

I had fun with the thumbnail-generator at first, highlighting the nummy bits, but then I realized I prefer when people just let the thumbnail be the whole image, so why am I doing what I don't like other people doing? XD

Except that last pic cuz I just had to. :P
