I don't know how much Canada had to do with it, but it's a fucking scandal that Bäckström was disallowed from playing! Just before the match too at that!
One can just hope it would not have affected the match..

Yea...Canada is the only team i never can truthfully congratulate, because the majority are as bad winners as everyone is bad losers... Silver though, not too shabby, 4th isn't bad either, but it stings extra much when just outside the "podium"..

Nah man, grats on the Silver. 4th is pathetic for the US though, no spirit with the Bronze game. I have nothing against Sweden or the Finns and such, just Canada isn't a country anybody outside of Canada really roots for. I also don't really like the format of the tournament in general, part of the reason why NHL playoffs are so awesome is it's not just a one game series. People like the Pens and Crosby get put in their place.

The whole tournament was a huge let down, with some bizarre player absences mid-tournament. The USA vs Russia game was fun for us Americans but that's about it, we walked away with nothing after that lopsided loss to Finland. Seems like everyone just stepped aside for Canada, and while there were tons of huge names from the NHL, USA completely abandoned what had worked in the first 4 games by barely shifting the top lines on big ice. Shameful. Waking up to Canada winning definitely dampens my day. =/
