Lost in the City, Computer Edition by DeRiften

If I thought I was tired yesterday, I must be dead today. Got up at 7:30am since I was planning to leave aroumd 10:30am for my appointment, so I arrived there at 10:40am, announced myself and waited. At 11:30am, I got up and was walking to the counter to ask why the guy was so late, when he opened the door to call my name. First good thing of the day, everything's done on that side. I'm officially accepted to the Programme Réussir but I need to get them a blank check from my bank in Trois-Rivières, which is gonna suck since I'll need to phone them and ask 'em to send me one, and they may or may not be able to do that. If they can, though, it might only take two to four weeks before receiving it, so I'll already have received my grants AND social welfare, meaning I'll have to reimburse the latter. So I got out of there at 12:40pm and Google maps told me it'd take barely six minutes to walk to the college to grab the form... well I got lost. Google maps told me to walk through the park but it isn't shoveled so there's just no way through, so I tried to go around but I ended up on my way to the metro station, so I turned back and asked directions from a bus driver, but the directions he gave me somehow made me end up where I was in the first place. Now ya gotta understand, it's freaking cold today, so at first I was frozen, shivering and white breathing but after 20 minutes or so of walking in the intense winds, I suddenly got used to it. I was feeling just fine and my legs weren't even hurting anymore (they're rockhard and they will NOT forgive me later/tomorrow, though). I was starving by that point so I figured I'd just take the bus back home, make me something to eat and resume from there but as I walked to the bus stop, I noticed that the 180, the bus I take to get to college, passed by there so I followed that road and finally made it to the college. Google maps said it'd take 6 minutes but it took me almost 40 minutes, yay. I went to the first restaurant I saw since I needed something to eat and a coffee asap, and that restaurant was a lil' noodle shop just round the corner from the college.

Hot dang was it delicious... and cheap! I swear, every single item on their menu (and there was over 40 items in there) looked delicious and I wanted to try them all out, and nothing costs more than 8$ (without taxes), plus they do free delivery so they're GUARANTEED to see me again. Only downside is that they don't serve coffee... or any drinks for that matter, but the spaghetti fukizima I ordered was hot and awesome so it more than makes up for it. So after I warmed up a bit, I went to the college to pick my form (you can print it on the Internet, but they've gotta fill a section of it so you don't have a choice but to go there), then the real joke began. I went to the bus stops to go to the big metro station... I took the wrong bus. Of course, Google maps told me it was the right bus but when the bus turned instead of going in a straight line like Google maps said it would, I knew it was pretty wrong. Thankfully the bus terminus it went to was a metro station so I wasn't too far off even though it was the wrong metro station. I took the metro and made it to the right place, though at first I thought I was at the wrong place once again because I walked in the direction Google maps told me to walk (why don't I learn) and when I asked directions once again, I found out that I was walking in the exact opposite direction of where I was supposed to go.

I FINALLY made it there and went to the place to get my photo taken but as I was taking out my comb to take care of the mess that the wind and snow and exhaustion had made, the clerk (who coincidentally happens to look like Marko Ahonen) told me there was no need since he had stealthily taken the photo while we were talking... oh God that has got to be the most miserable photo of myself ever taken, it just looks pathetic. Oh well, hiccup is that once we were done, the guy told me that'd cost 15$... cash only. I counted and only had 11$ left from the 20$ I had taken out for the bus and of course, there weren't any ATM around so I had to go to the international store next door to buy a 5.50$ chicken pita (which was surprisingly delicious, considering it was cold and made from worse stuff than you can find in grocery stores) since there was STILL no coffee in order to withdraw 5$ from my account, and then went to pay for my photo. The guy gave me the card on the spot but it was empty and I still needed to charge it. Next stop, the metro station whence I came. But on the way, this one guy stopped me to ask for directions so I told him "Poor you, I'm in the same spot as you" and he then asked for money so I gave him the last 1$ I had, before proceeding to the metro station where I asked the guy how I could charge it and he said he was responsible for it, that it'd be 47.50$... cash only. I groaned since my debit account was empty by that point (lucky I always keep 50$ in there just in case some places don't accept credit), and the guy must have seen the "fedup with everything" look in my eyes 'cause he told me there was a machine that let me charge my card with credit in the building next door. I went there and the machine worked perfectly, but then came the time to actually test it.

I went back to the metro, scanned my card and... it worked! I took the metro to the right station, then took the right bus to the right place and... the card worked even in the bus! I finally have that damn card and it works just fine! Plus, you can recharge it each month in pharmacies and there's one in the store cluster near my home so I won't have to go back there ever again (hopefully). Thing is, I'll have to renew my card every semester (normal semester though, meaning in August and January) but thankfully, photographs go to each college to take care of that so you STILL don't have to go back the big metro place.

SO... I made it to the college at 4:00pm and didn't really have time to go back home and come back later (plus I needed to sit down at that point), so I figured I'd FINALLY grab myself a coffee since I was "pretty" tired by that point... but the coffee costs 1.xx$... cash only. FML x_x

Oh well, I figured I'd sit down in front of the class and play Pokemon FireRed till it started but sleep mode apparently doesn't lower battery usage so it was dead when I opened it (I'll have to beat Blaine again), but by that time I didn't care about anything anymore so I just went to the computer lab and watched Twitch Plays Pokemon till the class started and... well now it's 6:01pm and the class is supposed to have started soooo... there goes the update!

Later that day

Yeah, I'm too tired to edit it to look nice and updated and stuff. So I made it back home and I'm exhausted and the back pills are delicious once again, I plan to sleep at least an extra hour tomorrow and move as little as possible since my legs are gonna wake up grumpy. I surprisingly prefer Montreal at night, it's waaaay less crowded (earlier, I was packed like a bean with no place to sit and sharing a single metro pole with at least five people) and it actually feels less cold, though my body might just be too tired to notice by that point. My class was pretty fun, too! I learned more about computer (and console!) parts and specifics in four hours than I learned in two semesters in college, it's just amazing. Even more amazing is that the teacher said it was just a quick resume that we'll probably never use, that it was basically just backstory to set us all on the same level. So I guess I'm exhausted but it was worth it. I mean in the end, I got my damn bus card and I didn't die from walking in Montreal at night but for now, I'm gonna go collapse in my bed and die for a bit.

WEASYL EXCLUSIVE (because I forgot to mention it on FA and I'm too tired to edit it)

Yanno the cute boy I mentioned a while ago? Well, I learned that he's awesomely fashionable and he has a different style everyday. Today, his style was the army so he had army camos with dog tag, army boots and this bigass watch that people in the army wear for real. It's heavy as fuck, made of thick metal and is completely waterproof (probably bulletproof too), it's pretty amazing.
