Miley Cyrus with Fursuit dancers in her stage show by magnus

Found thanks to prawst's twitter:

Well, there you have it.
And these looks like legitimate fursuits instead of the usual 'Rent-A-Mascot' looking costumes often seen alongside pop singers for whatver reason. I wonder if they are furries or if Miley's show creators commissioned them from legit makers?

Also the John K. animations are bizarre as hell (not surprising)

EDIT: You can see the suits more here too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_765hhHOqY

wooow i really wanna know that too O_O

Think it's official that furry is mainstream now?

    • Link

I think it comes closer each day? But IDK if it could ever be fully 'mainstream', I think it is still too inherently weird even if pop singers tap into it and shine the spotlight on it. It still feels more like novelty than like it'll ever be taken seriously (well, as seriously as you CAN take furry, haha)

      • Link

Personally I hope it never becomes mainstream. It gets enough hate as it is..

        • Link

If this ever WERE to truely happen (and I really do have my doubts) it would be the very watered down and tame Uncle Kage(TM) Anthrocon approved image of furries. I think the WHOLE SHEBANG of what comes with this fandom will NEVER be mainstream.

          • Link

Same, but it's a scary thought. It's just something so easily to misinterpret.

            Ahhh... Uncle Kage

AKA we'll always be the butt-end of jokes and ridicule in the eyes of even our nerd cousins.

            • Link

Hey man, that's what makes it fun. so long as it doesn't get too out of hand

whispers furries ruin everything and runs off into the distance

          • Link

I don't know if any level of sincerity can become mainstream!

      • Link

Just imagine. The trend followers suddenly thinking fursuits are IN.... Shudder

        • Link

          Exactly.. Blech

  • Link

Yeah... Miley just seems to be tapping into anything she finds bizarre or odd to get people's attention lately. She had the whole "I have an adult baby persona" thing going on for a while too.

    • Link

It sure seems like it, I agree. It's like she's just doing a general sweeping arm-grab at everything she deems "low brow internet" and the like. I'm sure she'll start reviving ancient 4chan memes thinking she's edgey next.

    This is BRETTY RAD

Man, this and that weird Ellen commercial that aired during superbowl with the Gangnam furries. I doubt it's really catching on, though. I think too many people will always be too weirded out or confused by the fursuiter thing to stomach much of it.

  • Link

I had a hard time trying to figure out what the hell was going on!

  • Link

haha I love the irony with john .K he made a animation about furries being gross and the this happened and Im just in shock form this

  • Link

we did it, guys. mission accomplished!

  • Link

    That girl gets weirder everyday

  • Link

Miley Cyrus fusuit background dancer is my new dream career.

    • Link

I second this. That would be so awesome!

  • Link

Wow. That actually looked like a really interesting concert. I'd be in just for the John K. stuff!! Recognized that in the background right away!

  • Link

I think they had to be custom-made commisson suits: They all seemed to have extra vent/eye mesh in their muzzles - ALL of them that I saw close-up did. Which makes sense, the hottest part is the head! Also, need to see as much as possible with all those people around.

    • Link

Without a doubt they are custom built fursuits. I wanna know who made em and who's wearing them

      • Link

Yeah that'd be interesting to know :o Though it's unlikely that actual furries would be wearing them, but who knows?

  • Link

Good to see John K's animation is as weird as I thought it would be, I guess... From what I could see. lol

  • Link

I totally want to see more of that John K animation.

  • Link

    Aw, second link is down.

Now that I've gotten a better look, I'm really impressed by how big that projection is. This would be overwhelming to see in person.

  • Link

I found a second video that zooms in a bit more and the suits still look pretty bad: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWKqGj34qLc

More furry than normal, but still not 'real' suits it seems to me. :o

    • Link

Well yeah the Shark and the monkey don't look like real suits. The wolf and the tiger though
