CAT IN NEED (UPDATE 3) by SlippingStar

UPDATE 3: Unfortunately, Barnabas has tested positive for FiV (feline HiV). However, after much discussion, we are still keeping him. He'll be indoor-outdoor, due to not feeling the need to mate after being fixed, and not being a threat to unfixed toms. His strand of FiV is also particularly benign, so it should be okay.
Please don't hassle me about keeping a positive cat around our negative cats/being allowed to roam. The only other option is letting him roam entirely, without getting him medical care, until we can get him a home.

UPDATE 2: My parents decided we will be keeping him! However, we still appreciate donations, since this is a more expensive route than surrendering.

UPDATE: The fees will not be as much as I had thought - $350. But that's still a lot, so I am still open to donations and work.

I recently found a stray with a horrible gash on his neck (proof). I took him to the vet, and without someone making sure he doesn't scratch it it won't heal. He is most likely a stray, being intact and not microchipped, but he is super friendly and social. I'll be giving him to a no-kill shelter tomorrow, but the vet and surrender fees total to almost $500. I am willing to do art to cover, and also accept donations. Please spread the word!

TL;DR:
-Cat injured (proof)
-Stray
-Will be surrendered to no-kill shelter
-Total fees near $500 $350
-Doing art/stories/etc to raise money
-Please spread

Since I cannot help with the donations part, I can try and spread the word around.
