Since its Valentine's Day and every fur is getting cutsey art or porn today, thought I'd share some thoughts on the holiday about Love.

Don't fall in love with love.
It's unfair to others.
You can idealize love all you want.
But it's not about you.
It's not about what you want out of it.
Love ain't capitalism.

Love is about them.
It's about being the best you can for others.
It's about doing good even if you're unloved back.
It's about compassion for all sentient beings.
The world is a harmonious place.
It has no place for your selfishness.
It has no place for your anger.
It has no place for your bitterness.
It has endless room for your compassion and love.

Just remember not to fall in love with the idea of being in love.
It's very unfair to the person you profess to love because they aren't a person anymore.
They become your ideal of what love is supposed to be,
You're fetishizing their personalities for the sake of a narrative in your head that doesn't match reality.

Real love is being compassionate for others who don't even like you back.

Fuck the chocolate
Fuck the slower sex than usual
Fuck buying a card or a present or a commission
Love has no room for capitalism
Love has no room for your needs and selfish ways
Give your love to the world without wanting and asking for anything in return.
