Wrist Diagnosis!! by Rabid_Twitch

So turns out is a ganglion cyst, not surprising but definitely better than having a problem with any ligaments/tendons! So definitely the best diagnosis I could have. My doctor gave me a referral to an Orthopedic surgeon to have it removed ( most likely via needle not actual surgery ) its too small for him to do it himself at the office but to not have pain anymore i'll need it removed. So gotta wait for my referral paperwork to get here vial snail mail and then make myself the appointment. In other news i've had a lot of random blotchy almost rashy looking area on my skin spread all over, mostly on my hip, stomach and legs. They aren't bothering me in any way but I asked if he thought I should make an appointment to have him check it out he sad yes ( since my appointment wasn't for that he's not allowed to do anything about it at this visit ) but I got one for next week at least, Not sure what it is I've had no change in Diet, or soaps and i use hypo allergenic detergents and fabric softener. so we shall see what he says, so far lotions and hydrocortisone cream haven't affected it in any way. thats that!

I've had a ganglion before, wasn't the most fun experience. The old wives tale for removal is to smash them with a Bible or large book lol Thankfully, mine subsided on its own ^^

i've actually had this one since i was 18 and i'm 25 now. I remember it was rather big and i was going to smash it because of no insurance then but it went away i thought, but still hurt but i just kind of got used to it and since forgot about that until he said it was ganglion. I didn't get it checked out until now because i didn't have any health insurance until i got married at 20 and by then had gotten used to working with the pain I had and had forgotten about it

yeah the old wives tale about hitting your ganglion with a bible or large book dont do it. it makes them worse. I've hand ganglion cysts. Glad to hear its nothing serious. My pap says that there is a gene that cause ganglion cysts to form, only after an injury. I remember i got mine when my hand got slammed in a door. So perhaps you hurt yourself a long time ago and thats how and why it formed. Mine didnt go away until surgery. But there is a chance it can return.
