Missing things, present smoke and clean neighborhoods by DeRiften

Overslept again this morning, that felt awesome but hot dang it was hot again (ha, pun). The heater is really finicky, if it's juuuuust a millimeter below 15C, you die of heat, juuuuuust a millilemeter below that and you're fine but go juuuuuuuuuuust a millimeter below THAT and it suddenly gets cold. I'll just have to find the right place and never touch it again... ever. Other than that, the day went smooth enough. Went to make juice this morning but there's no juice pitcher, so I'll have to buy one tomorrow. Wanted to make myself a pizza around 4:00pm to eat while watching a stream (I can finally watch streams again @_@), so I preheated the oven. Well, when the temperature was at 400F, I opened the door and a cloud of smoke blew in my face and invaded the living room, triggering the smoke detector. Ends up there were quite a few empty dishes in there for some obscure reason. My roommate then came out of his room to check what was going on and we opened all the doors and windows to let the smoke out, and that's how I learned he was a security engineer back in Africa. I also took the occasion to introduce myself, not really a good first impression :P. He moved here to study something (I already forgot, not a good start), and his pregnant wife followed to give birth here and she's going back to Cameroon in a few weeks (with a nice free Canadian citizenship for her and her son in her pocket, clever). He seems like a bit of a clean freak since he puts the shoes and boots in the garage instead of on the yanno, shoe/boots mat and he wipes the floor behind him when he walks on it... barefoot, odd guy.

Oh well, after that incident I cooked my pizza and it was when it was ready that I noticed there's no pizza cutter either; another thing to buy tomorrow. Sat down in front of my stream but it ended up meh so I ate my pizza while browsing Facebook like the "winner" I am :V. Then later in the evening it was The Voice (Quebecois Edition) so I figured I'd make me some popcorn but you've guessed it... there's no lid to be seen for the sauce pan :P. Thankfully, everything's 500 meters away. Grocery stores, dollar stores, pawn shops, mini Wal-Mart clones, dentists, optometrists, banks, etc etc; really convenient. I'll also use that occasion to explore the neighborhood a bit and maybe go to a foreign restaurant or something (I've so many to try out!)

I love Montreal so far, let's see if I still love it once I actually set foot outside my home and go for a walk all alone :P
