Día de los Muertos by perdiddle

From digital to real media, I will start uploading and re-posting some of my watercolor works from other sites. Then I think, if I get up the nerve, I will post some of my photography that I am really happy about.

Today I did not speak unless I was spoken to as a tithe for the dead and the departing. I figure, if nothing else, it gave me time to be introspective and only say what needed to be said, something I am really not very good at maintaining.

I am hoping that I will have all the boxes unpacked and the computer room set up before the end of November. That way, I can actively use my tablet again and offer up some commissions or adoptables. I certainly have some ideas, not sure if they will come to completion.

My addiction currently is an early birthday present from the weasel hugging the rabbit in my user icon: He bought me Journey CE for Ps3. It is breath-taking.

i'm excited to see some watercolor paintings! with my breakneck (at times) pace, watercolor can be both a blessing and a curse. i can fill in huge swaths of colors, make interesting patterns, make irl gradients (so to speak), but at the same time, if i fuck up, then dang do i fuck up!! and almost immediately i overwork the painting to death haha. how do you handle it?? is it a favorite medium of yours ?

Watercolors was part of the first "art class" I ever took when I was itty bitty. I really struggled with the instruction and emphasis on drawing soup cans, but I fell in love with the idea of paint-washes. I don't think I am the best but I am certainly very comfortable. I enjoy adding different sized salt crystals into the paint slurry to bleed colors.. Experimenting with it is my favorite part, and actually shapes a lot of my digital work.

paint-washes, those are exactly what i adore about watercolors. subtlety. its an aspect, a very distinguishing trait. sometimes, that is what i strive for in my digital work, but?? you can never duplicate the real thing digitally

ive never used salt crystals but i have seen work that has. it tempts me
