About Friend Requests by Pulsar
I wanted to post a note about friend requests.
Lately it seems that I'm getting one from nearly every person who follows me. I'm definitely flattered, and I think it's awesome that so many people are making use of the friend feature. However, it only makes sense to me to friend people I actually know.
If I don't accept your friend request, it's probably because either I don't recognize your name and/or I don't actually know you. It's nothing personal, I just don't want people to feel offended because we're not "friends".
At this time, I don't have any intention of using the "post only to friends" feature, mostly because I don't really have any ideas of what to use it for. Followers who aren't friends shouldn't be missing anything.

I do see what you`re saying. I got a friend request ,but I had spoken to this person prior to receiving it. Now if I had not spoken to them, I would have ignored it.

Yeah, it can get complicated. Even if I've talked to someone, I don't necessarily consider them a friend They could just be an acquaintance. I don't know that there's any specific set of circumstances that makes someone a "friend". It's like one of those "you know it when you see it" kind of things. Plus I'm sure it's different for every person.

That`s true. I have more acquaintances than friends because, I probably will end up not liking them later on. I think the circumstances that makes someone a "friend" depends on different people. I do not exactly think it is like one of those "you know it when you see it" things because, I have to talk to someone and (maybe) see them interact with others several times before I consider thinking of them as an acquaintance. Then again, I might just change my opinion. Again, true. Also, I apologize if it sounds like I began ranting.

I think I need that for FA more. xD
For some reason, a bunch of people think I'm trying to "hide" my work by only posting it here. So somehow they feel like they're sticking it to me when they repost it on some other site, as if I have no idea whatsoever that my art gets posted around.
Anyway, so I need to tell people on FA: my art's not some big secret! I'm fully aware it gets reposted elsewhere! I just don't like FA that much. x)

Yeah I totally agree with you here. I get plenty of these random friend requests myself, probably just because certain folks don't really know what they're asking for when they click "Friend" on it. It isn't like Facebook, people. ;)c

I'm a bit confused, you say that you're not using the "post to friends" feature, but of all the images you've uploaded here, I can only manage to view 7, from the Torque folder. The other folders say they have images, but when I click, nothing shows up. And yes, my profile is set to view explicit material.

Friends and Followers are two different categories on Weasyl. It's possible to check a box when creating a submission or a journal that makes it only visible to friends, rather than all followers. I haven't really thought of a reason I'd want to use this, though, at least not yet.

Indeed but its an interesting feature.
I can see it as a use for maybe early access or look to WIPs you want friends to see before they are done.
