(incoming rant) Using your fandom blog as a personal one, why? by GemCandy

I follow a few fandom blogs on tumblr, but they also trow in non-fandom related posts, like talking about their boy/girlfriends, how much they love them or what they are doing right now.
They have a personal blog, I follow them on there as well, but those are pretty much dead since they trow all of their personal posts on their fandom blogs.
Really, using your fandom blog as a personal one just because it has more followers so more peeps see your non fandom related posts that aren't even really that important?
I understand if you're talking about a sick pet that you can donate money for if you can't pay the vet yourself and stuff like that, but talking about random stuf that doesn't even have anything to do with the fandom on that blog?
Why do you do that? That is really super annoying if you got a personal one to do that on.
Talking about things that aren't related to your fandom blog, kinda defeats the purpose of calling it a 'fan-dom blog'
I know, it's your blog and you can do whatever you want on it, I just find it annoying and the defeats the purpose of having your own blog.
That's my opinion.

I do see what you`re saying. I think it does defeat the purpose of a fandom blog and a personal blog if you only use the fandom blog, too.

Thank you, that's why I don't have a fandom blog seeying as I will just get confused about it and reblog things to the wrong blog, so I just have 1 and that's fine for me. It's just that this happens and it annoys me, but I'll just unfollow them when it annoys me enough. ^^

You`re welcome. I see. That makes sense. I think unfollowing them when it gets to that point would be the most mature option.

I've never understood this practice, either. Especially on roleplay blogs. I mean, I can understand if you're posting about personal life shit that's going to interfere with you maintaining the blog, or having a separate page specifically about yourself just as an "if you're curious" thing. But otherwise, no. I've stopped following a few RP blogs at times because of this reason. It defeats the point of trying to portray yourself as a character.

Indeed, it's really unhandy and most of the peeps just do it because their fandom blog has more followers and they want moRE PEOPLE TO SEE HOW MUCH THEY LOVE THEIR BOY/GIRLFRIEND! What da heck, why, no, I'm interested in seeing nice fandom stuff, not you drooling over your lover, thank you very much.
