Samus goes in for surgery tomorrow by Nyaasu

So, I moved my rat Samus' vet appointment up to before I leave, though it makes my schedule...super tight, and possibly impossible, but we'll worry about that later.

The vet suggests surgery ASAP, so she's going in tomorrow morning. Hopefully she'll be back home later that day...if not...uhh...I'm going to have to work some magic, since I leave for California before dawn on Thursday.

Wish her luck!

P.S. I'm going to California on Thursday, I'll be back Feb. 12th.

Aw, good luck lil ratty! I hope everything goes well. <3

California, huh? Don't pack heavy clothes, lol; it has been so temperate here lately that I'm starting to doubt I even live in the same country as all the other Americans. XD

Really? My dad just told me the opposite (he's who I'm visiting), but I'm just going to bring short sleeves and hoodies, which I wear all year round anyway. xD

Oh well admittedly this is a very tall state so maybe people up north are experiencing something different. XD I'm in orange county and celebrating the fact that the highs tomorrow are going to stay in the 60s and not reach the 70s or even the 80s for the first time ALL SEASON!! shock and awe.

He lives in Anaheim, if that helps! Not sure if that's near where you're at - I'm in NJ, myself! x3

Oh that's near where I live. XD I guess it's true you'll need a hoodie at night, I'm mostly just bitter because my family is at home having ice days off of work and I'm outside in short sleeves. :P Jersey is fun; I visited Ocean City earlier this year. :D Gorgeous place.

... by this year, I mean last year haha. /facepalm

Bahaha, I do the same thing this early in a year. xD

Aww, so I'll be near you? Cool! Do you visit Disneyland a lot? xD

                • Link

Yup, you will! By all means I should, since I have a resident annual pass, but none of my friends do, and they're all poor college students who can't afford tickets, so my life is sad lol. Womp womp. I should probably just go by myself one day or something. XD

Aww, I wouldn't want to go by myself either! I don't like to do anything like that alone. D: Your friends need to budget, eat more ramen, and go with you!!

Best thoughts for the little one. Careful on your travels. Hope both of you can be home and well soon.

Wishing Samus lots of luck in her surgery! I hope everything turns out okay. <3
My old rattie I was telling you about passed away on Monday, I miss him. :(

Oh no...I am so sorry to hear that...I know how much it hurts.
If you need a shoulder to cry on, I'm here...although I might cry too. :(

Thanks so much for the kind words. It's always so tough to lose a pet, and I do wish ratties lived a little longer. :( Wrex was a great guy. He was my last rat, his brother passed away last year. I haven't been ratless in over 10 years, so it feels weird. Not sure if I'm going to get more for the moment, though, I think I might take a break from rat ownership for a bit. I imagine that won't last forever, though, I can't imagine staying away from those adorable little rodents for too long! <3

I have felt this exact same way. I always want to take a "break" from the expenses, and also the heartbreak, but I can never "keep off" of rats for very long. I love the little things, I always need one around.

Good luck to both of you.
