I SURVIVED! by Concoction

The wrath of Sandy swept down upon us last night. My mom and my brothers don't have any power of cellphone reception or internet or ANYTHING in the suburbs. But my dad and I are fairly unscathed here-- it's still rainy and billowy outside but the SUN is out so I take that as a good sign. Public transit is still down and I'm having some anxiety about getting to work but other than that, things are fine. My mom drove over to another town to get reception on her phone to call everyone she needs to AND STUFF. My grandmother had a down tree in her yard, but it didn't fall on anyone and it didn't fall on the house. YIPPEE DOO.

Now back to surviving my fast.

I'm glad you're doing okay! Sandy finished up here in Virginia sometime yesterday, I'm assuming you're a bit farther north.

Queens, New York man! Did you get any snow? I have family in West Virginia and I heard they got up to 2 feet in some parts.

Snow? Not in my area, no. I'm in the southwest, close to the ocean. Norfolk/Virginia Beach area. It's freezing cold right now, lots of rain but no snow. But if they got snow in parts of West Virginia, it's definitely because of the mountains.

Oi yeh probably. I keep forgetting about the massive elevation difference down there. HAH. Any huge damage down there? I have a few friends that live in Virginia Beach that I haven't spoken toooo

It really depends. I live above sea level and about 20 minutes from the ocean front, so damage here was minimal. However, I was watching the news while Sandy was going on and a lot of places closer to the ocean front, like VIrginia Beach, had flooded roads. In some cases quite a few people did have massive water damage to their homes and cars. I'm sure your friends are alive and well, but depending on where they lived they probably have a bit of cleaning to do.
