Something I've been thinking about... by Junga

I'm not comfortable with line art. At all. I tend to lose details and proportions in the line-art phase after sketching. With painting, it's different. Maybe line art is too clean and the style I'm comfortable with is more messy?
I'm not sure whether to abandon lineart altogether or keep practicing? Idk.
Do any of you guys have similar problems? And how do you handle those situations?

you could always just overly clean your sketches until it looks like line art. Plenty of artists do that

Hmm.. I haven't really thought of doing that much. I should give it a try.

I would practice both if I were you !! Or find a way to merge the two ( minimal linearting with painted details, something like that ) in a way that would maybe get something that's between the messy and clean, that might work ?? Just go with the flow really and do what makes you feel the most comfortable !!

Maybe. I've been working on a sketch dump where I practice different techniques. I guess it's just something I have to practice more. :x
However, I want to focus more on painty things so I will probably do more of that because it's super fun.
But yeah, I'll practice integrating them and see what happens.
