My tablet i think i have had it since 2011 and that is a good 3 almost 4 years.. it has suffered a lot of abuse. And i mean wow.. cat chewed on it. dog chewed on it. kid pulled it blah blah blah it is a bamboo fun or something idk old tablet.
I need a new recommendation. D: I will be buying it with my tax money after bills are payed.
Cost wise.. i don't wanna push 100.. just do to the fact i am not a full time artist.. just meh artist. ><
so yes. :D
so you think monoprice.. i have heard a lot of good reviews from them from a lot of artist switching from wacom to them. :) i am more traditional artist in the non hobby world but i am just not as digitally art inclined. ><
I personally haven't had a monoprice but I have talked to people who like it as well. I actually work off a Bosto monitor tablet. (Like the wacom cintiq but A LOT cheaper)
If you aren't that "digitally art inclined" then I would definitely go with the monoprice to start.
Though I would recommend my bosto tablet if you are looking for a tablet that duels as a monitor.
(Also my bosto monitor tablet was cheaper than that other huion tablet look a like that was linked by VenomousSoliloquy)
If you ever want to talk tablet just come to me because I have had all kinds ; w ; (I've gone through a total of about 7 tablets so far of all different kinds)
I am thinking monoprice for now until i get my own laptop (currently using a relative's.) I would like to invest in something like a cintiq as i have always loved being able to see what i draw below me. >< but at the same time the new latptop i am getting is able to be a tablet so i am not sure if i should invest in something like that or not or invest in a pen for the laptop. :/ i just don;t know I know i would really want to look into it.
In that situation I would definitely choose monoprice even as a back up. I still am working off my broken laptop with my tablet since I cannot buy anything new. (Still broke as dirt) If your new laptop duels as a tablet then it would render a cintiq look-a-like useless, generally. Certainly invest in just a monoprice for now and possibly a pen later for the laptop; or in between if the need or money arises.
Always have at least a backup around. I have a small half broken tablet I use in case a laptop or something fails. It has saved me more than once by doing that.
(Btw: With a monitor tablet, like mine, I normally find myself looking up to my other monitor to see what I am drawing because I have been just so used to not staring down. Tablets like that take a lot of getting used to. Also the need to wear a half glove....Those things get hot and sweaty, but you need them or risk smearing your screen and making it nasty as well as sticking to it and not being able to move your hand. Just a word of advice from experience lol)
As far as I know, Huion Tablets are really good, and cheap like the monoprice ones. C: They also have battery powered styluses

Hell, I think even their Cintiq competitor is a fraction of the cost. So, yeah. I'd say Monoprice or Huion. Huion just look uh... prettier. Not that, that matters. ♥

Monoprice tablets are your way to go then. The smaller ones that I know of barely even push 60usd let alone 100. They have battery powered pens though but since you are a "hobbyist" (?) artist it shouldn't be that big of a problem. (:
Although if you are just wanting to stick to famous name brands; Wacom bamboo still have their overpriced, tiny, tablets for at least 100 if not more with tax and shipping.
(I'm sorry but I just really hate wacom stuff. It breaks easier than cheap glassware) ; u ;
