What do you do in your spare time?
Mostly drawing and world design and all the stuff you see here.

What's your job or occupation?
Grad student, for the moment. This is going to change in the next few months.

What do you like about yourself?
I'm smart, creative, and reliable - I'm someone you can lean on when things get bad.

What do you dislike about yourself?
I'm intensely closeted about my creative side. I don't want the two sides of my life to mix, and that leads to an awful lot of stress, but I think that's normal.

What did your friends notice about you when they first met you?
How much I hated myself for minor things. I'm better now, largely thanks to those same friends.

What is your belief/religion if you believe in anything at all?
It's a cliche, but "an it harm none, do as you will" is a pretty good basis for a moral system. I'm not big on ritual or crowds, though, so organized religions don't do it for me. I like to experience the metaphysical side of reality through quiet contemplation and philosophizing.

Do you drink/smoke?
No, but I don't judge those who do. It's just not for me.

What are your major fears?
Falling - even Ferris wheels put me on edge, and I can't stand roller coasters. Heights don't trigger the same reaction; it's actual downward motion that does it. Also, I have a constant low-level worry that I'll find out some friend of mine died suddenly. It's happened, twice, and I never want it to happen again.

Do you have any dreams or goals?
Lots. Too many to count, let alone list here.

Have you ever had a crush or an ex?
Yes.

Who's your best buddy?
I have a hard time picking a "best" - all my friends are wonderful.

What's your favorite dish?
Anything I haven't tried yet. I love variety, and I love to experience everything a cuisine has to offer.

What's your favorite drink?
When it's time to sit down at the keyboard and Get Stuff Done, there is nothing like fresh-brewed black tea with honey. That and a little bowl of trail mix will keep me going for hours.

What's your favorite color?
Weirdly hard to answer, this one. Every color is good when used right, and there's lots of potent symbolism there.

What's your favorite movie?
Very hard to pick just one, but Young Frankenstein and This Is Spinal Tap are up there for silly comedies.

What's your least favorite food?
Anything pepper-based spicy. I'm very sensitive to capsaicin, so I can't take much heat. This is sometimes awkward.

What do you drive and what would you really like to drive?
I drive a beat-up Oldsmobile that's enough to carry me around town. I'd really like some kind of ultra-reliable long-distance fuel-efficient thing that I could go on long trips with and not have to worry, though. Speed and style aren't my concerns - I want something practical.

What is your most disliked bug?
Ants. Specifically, sugar ants. I like most insects and arthropods, even the unpopular ones like bees and spiders and wasps and centipedes, but when you see swarms of tiny ants invading your kitchen, it's a signal that something is badly wrong and you need to fix it.

What is your biggest pet peeve?
The answer to this could be its own journal entry alone. I have lots of these. Maybe I'll get around to writing about them someday.
