Maybe if I smash my face into good traditional paintings hard enough I'll understand how they work by Thaddeusgrey

and maybe if I smash my teacher's face into the 20+ traditional works I've done in the past TWO AND A HALF YEARS
he'll get it into his smug fucking superior head that I have hAD ENOUGH OF BEING FORCED TO DO TRADITIONAL
YOU ARE NOT SOME SPECIAL FUCKING SELF-SUPERIOR RIGHTEOUS SNOWFLAKE FOR BEING THE ONLY CLASS I HAVE THIS SEMESTER THAT'S FORCING ME TO USE TRADITIONAL MEDIA
I HAVE HAD A COUPLE YEARS NOW WHERE I HAVE HAD TO USE IT IN MOST IF NOT ALL MY CLASSES
YOU ARE NOT SPECIAL OR SMART FOR MAKING ME "WORK OUTSIDE MY COMFORT ZONE"
I'VE HAD ENOUGH OF WORKING OUTSIDE OF MY COMFORT ZONE
I'VE BEEN FORCED OUTSIDE OF IT FOR TWO YEARS
I'M A FUCKING JUNIOR IN MY LAST FUCKING SEMESTER AND I WOULD APPRECIATE BEING FUCKING RESPECTED ENOUGH TO CHOOSE WHICH MEDIA I WORK IN

I think sometimes professor's forget there are more then just traditional pieces. But, I also think we as artist sometimes forget our traditional ways when dealing with digital. XD Due to habit I barely use the undo key I just paint or blur, etc my mistakes.

I'm sure you understand both mediums well, but others may not and so monotony reins.

Yeah, it more bugs me that as a junior, he kNOWS I've already had years of classes where I've had to do ONLY traditional. So this BS about how he thinks he's preserving some kind of high ground by being my only professor to make me use it and "push me beyond my comfort zone" ticks me off. Because until recently all my professors WERE making me use traditional and they decided to let me start using digital because they knew I was ready for it.
He's holding me back from it because he personally prefers traditional media, and so he's enforcing a personal preference on a class of students instead of letting us explore our niches.

Yeah I had a professor that wanted me to use microns but I prefer the nib and ink method for inking traditionally. I kept telling him I press hard because my hand shakes, and if I don't the tip would bend anyway because of my hand shaking. So, he let me borrow his once - never again. He gave me the thickest one he had and pop my hand shook while I was using it and the tip bent. He told me to stick with nib and ink XD.
