Roommate Rant by SleepyMonster

I am so very very tired of the roommate game. Our current room mate is a douche, the roommate before her was okay until he randomly decided he was going to be the world's biggest jerk and proceeded to talk to us is a series of angry grunts, and the roommate before him up and abandoned us when we evacuated during the Waldo Canyon fire.

But right now I want to talk about my hyper sensitive asshole of a current roommate. I LITERALLY cannot say anything to her without her throwing one massive fucking fit. We actually have two roommates, and last week I casually said "hey guys please throw away your trash" and the roommate I'm talking about proceeded to have the world's biggest toddler fit about how we moved into this house expecting to be a "family" (um... no we fucking didn't) and how I'm not treating her like a family member because I keep telling her what to do (I've asked her a total of two times not to leave her trash on the counter, and really I shouldn't even have to ask this) and boo fucking who she's always so tired and everyone always abandons her for no reason and she never leaves her trash out anywhere and besides I leave my receipts everywhere and I didn't clean the cat box for a week (Just today I found her candy wrappers all over the couch and the playstation remote was smeared in her nasty ass hand grease, also I put my receipts into a drawer because I like to keep them for a few weeks, it's saved my ass a few times, but every time I do this she takes them out and puts them on the counter. I'm not sure why she does this. Also I didn't clean the cat box for a week because I had the flu and nobody else cleans the cat box but me even though I'm always having to do her chores.) Gee, I fucking wonder why no one wants to be your friend when they can literally say "please don't do that" to you and you'll explode at them, hmmm, I wonder.

Anyway, we have cycling chores. For a while Dishes was a one person chore, meaning one person volunteered to do it, and that person was this roommate. I have the cat box, as mentioned before. The other room mate has counters, and Jordan has sweeping because he works 12 hours a day and he deserves to have the easiest chore. After a while I noticed that dishes were slacking, so I offered to trade chores with this roommate. Not only did she completely ignore me, she also went behind my back and traded with poor Jordan who barely has any time on his damn plate because of his 12 hour a day job, all because "she was too tired from her job to do dishes. (subtext: and the cat box is icky, ew)" Now mind you, she works a 4 hour a day job, LET ME REPEAT THAT, 4 HOURS A DAY, WITH A DAMN LUNCH BREAK. When I worked at McDonald's I worked 8 hours a day in the kitchen, often by myself because I was night shift, and I was also a closer which meant a lot of cleaning, and my boss was the world's biggest bitch and would not let me take breaks, AND I barely brought home $300 twice a month, AND when my checks got garnished I only brought home around $50 twice a month. Did I go home and throw trash on the counters and ignore the dishes? HELL no. This room mate is a lazy LEACH, nothing more. Anyway, I had to move the dishes from a one person chore to a weekly chore so poor Jordan wasn't stuck with them. Now it cycles between us four every week. Guess who's week it is to do dishes? Guess who isn't doing the dishes? Yeah, this roommate, but don't worry because she promises to do them on Saturday. IT'S FUCKING TUESDAY! We live in a four person house. Those dishes pile up FAST, when it's your week you do them almost DAILY. Jordan's turn was last week, and guess who got stuck doing the piled up dishes while I was cooking? Yeah, Jordan, who was tired from working all day (again, 12 hours) and who just got through his own week. It's bullshit.

I'm ranting here because I need to keep the peace. She pays her damn rent (though she's been late more then once) and right now we need that. I have one more semester in school, that's three months, then I can graduate and get a job. Once I have a job this room mate is getting kicked out so fucking fast it'll be like Speedy Gonzales himself tore through here.

I'm a little worried about the other roommate. She's the world's best roommate, cleans up after herself, does her chores, pays her rent on time (often early) and will help with extra bills when she can, and best of all she leaves me the fuck alone. I cannot tell you how many times the other roommate complained about the good roommate before we all moved in together. According to her, the good roommate was the one who never did the dishes and always left her trash everywhere and ate all her food (this roommate LOVES to eat her own food and then blame other people for eating said food. I've been the target of this. It's almost funny, ALMOST.) Now I know she's a big fat disgusting liar. The good roommate and I are both introverts, so it works out. The thing is, the good roommate feels some sort of obligation for the other roommate, so I think when we kick that roommate to the curb this roommate will go with her. It's a shame, but if it happens it happens.

Okay, I'm done ranting. I don't expect anyone to have read this, I just needed to vent. If you did read it I accept asspats and angry words about said roommate, those will help me get over my anger better nods

I know where you're coming from with this (though not personally). My brother and two of his friends recently moved into an apartment together. My brother works the usual work week as a curb hop for a nearby drive in. His shifts are usually six hours (10am-4pm or 4pm-10pm) and and he is on his feet ALL DAY going up to cars to get orders and bring them their food. The second roommate works at a sporting goods store and has to be up at 4-5AM every day. The third roommate didn't have a job and couldn't pay rent for the first two months. Guess who picked up the slack in rent? My brother (250$ for him and another 250$ for the roommate). But guess who, in turn, doesn't do any chores or wash the dishes because "he doesn't make them" (Yes, that was his excuse)? The third roommate.

I can only imagine what it would be like to actually LIVE with a person like that, and they want me to move in. I partially believe it's because they know I'll do all the fucking chores because I can't stand to live in a place that dirty that it took my brother, his girlfriend, and the second roommate LITERALLY ten hours to get the place spotless again. They have no chore rotation, and more than once, when I've gone to visit, there have been empty pizza boxes and god-knows-how-old fast food bags and cups sitting on tables and the counters. My brother told me that they had absolutely no clean dishes which is what finally prompted them to think, "Hey, this is really, really fucking disgusting, maybe we should clean?"

My brother is seriously considering not renewing his section of the lease this August and moving back home, and I don't blame him. If this third roommate is anything like your lazy bitch ass roommate then I can't help but encourage you to kick her ass to the curb as soon as fuckingly possible and hope you find someone better.

    Also, asspatpatpats

Oh man, I've lived in that situation before. When we lived in a house with other roommates we had this roommate who literally sat in her room all day and smoked weed, the only time should would come out was to throw trash everywhere. Luckily she wasn't paying anything, so kicking her out was easy.

I've been the person who doesn't have the job in a house situation, but I always tried to step up. If you don't have a job then do extra chores, it's not that hard. I even cooked for everyone so they didn't have to.

I'm sorry your brother is in the situation, don't put yourself in it! If you have any doubts listen to them! :P

Ugh man I am not the best at knowing what to say but having lived a roommate nightmare a few times I feel your pain...I'm sorry you're dealing with a lazy, selfish asshole right now. I really hope it improves.

Thanks man. It will improve, it's only temporary, but for now I have to rant sometimes! :P

The best part about roommates is you don't have to have them in your life forever~

She needs to get over herself, I am so tired of her stupid passive aggressive behavior (and I do see it when I'm there). I can't wait until you're done with school and you and Jordan can be like a real married couple without psycho roommates (tho is the nice one stays awhile that's ok, she's nice even if her cat is the loudest cry baby ever lol).

P.s. this sentence has me laugh so loud dude.
"Once I have a job this room mate is getting kicked out so fucking fast it'll be like Speedy Gonzales himself tore through here."

Yeah, I'm so happy that school is almost over, I just hope I find a job easy!

Also, Jelly is hilarious! At least she shuts up after a while, unlike Esra who will cry forever and scratch at the carpet. Stupid cat.

Yup, pretty sick of her shit too now.

Sorry to hear about your roommate being so passive aggressive and self-centered. People like that are the worst! Best of luck on finding a well paying job once school's over with and giving her the boot!

Thanks buddy! I've got my fingers crossed!
