I've sat here for a while, kinda angry at the world right now. The last few a clusterfuck of drama from multiple angles. I'd even typed up a very long analogy comparing a side with a certain Affinity to a decrepit apartment building... but no, it was too long winded and just venting frustation.
As of now, I'll be doing most of my browsing, commenting and such here on Weasyl. Used to be 50-50.... but if you've got a Weasyl account, I'd prefer if you'd comment on my work here, favourite it here. I'll be taking more effort to be active HERE. Here is a site I care about, a crew of staff who actually care about their users, a community and service I want to see thrive. I should do my part in that.
Toying with ways to incentive movement to Weasyl... perhaps censored/lower res uploads on the other site?...
We'll see.
Either way, Things and stuff and hopefully I'll be able to settle my annoyances and get back to scribbling the stuff you all seem to love.
Weasyl really needs to improve its incoming submission browsing and overall interaction before they'll really take off, but at least there are filenames now. :)
The beauty of this site? The last two journals I've seen on this site complaining about features they didn't like or things they thought should be added, someone linked those journals to a Weasyl admin. The admin quickly replied to the journals, thanking them for their input, and that half of the problems the artists were concerned with, were already being fixed in the next update. Considering how many updates have been done since I got my invite in the Alpha, I would be surprised if the new update didn't fix just about everything everyone is complaining about.
It's beautiful what can happen when the administration/management actually care about their users, isn't it? :3
I do love it here, but I'll note that it took forever to get PDF support. There is a strong artist>author bias IMO.
Hmmm how long do you mean by forever? I can't imagine that there is much bias, though I will admit that there is more of a focus on visual art on this site, instead of textual.
"there is more of a focus on visual art on this site, instead of textual." < Sounds like a bias to me. XD
It's not so much bias on part of the staff, as much as there are simply more requests coming in on the visual art aspects of the site. I've only seen one or two complaints about textual submissions, compared to the dozens of complaint journals (the complaints tending to be the same 3-4 complaints) regarding visual submissions.
I followed your advice. ^__^

I am considering a 'Must have Weasyl' rule for my commissioners. Probably result in crazy-loud complaining though.
