Weasyl and Babyfurs by FriskyWoods

I hope the administration of Weasyl plans to treat babyfurs with same respect it shows other members, but what I've heard from friends and acquaintances so far has not been encouraging. There's something about the rating reassignments and suspensions that smacks of Yerf's asinine and completely unrealistic "clean furs" movement, and I'd rather not go down that road again.

There are thousands of babyfurs out there, if the membership of Babyfur.me is any indication. Weasyl would be wise not to alienate or marginalize this growing contingent of the furry community.

    Babyfur stuff is fine, just as long as there isn't sexual content. Weasyl has a policy where we can't have submissions of minors in sexual situations.

      This wouldn't be Fiz the Ancient, would it? Considering my limited but positive experiences with you in the past, I'm inclined to give you the benefit of the doubt.

      Nevertheless, it would be helpful to know what specifically is verboten on the site; if it's strictly cubs in sexual situations or if it goes beyond that. What about wet or soiled diapers? Will context be considered, or will all of these pictures be considered explicit regardless of the situation?

      Also, I have a friend who was suspended from the site for a couple of weeks for a picture he posted that admittedly was on the borderline. Given the lack of genitalia, though, it seems like it would have been more appropriate to delete the image and give him a warning. The more severe punishment has embittered him toward the site, making him less likely to post pictures on Weasyl that ARE within the site's content guidelines.

        Yep, the same Fiz.

        It's minors in sexual situations and nudity that are verboten, not adult situations. So soiled diapers are totally fine. Even pictures of babyfurs doing drugs, flipping the bird, cursing etc. are totally fine in our book as long as theres no sexual situations, nudity, or stuff like fetish/sex gear in use that would imply sexual situations (things like bondage, dildos, etc.)

        While I can't discuss specific suspensions with users, I will say that staff follows a moderating guideline that shows us what we need to do in certain moderating situations. We do not typically suspend people on their first violation unless something REALLY severe happened. If they were suspended, they likely had a previous violation on record that they had been told and warned about. I'm sorry that your friend became embittered toward the site, and if he wishes to discuss his suspension, he's free to shoot an e-mail by support@weasyl.com

          Thanks for the clarification. I'm getting the impression that my friend left out a few details about his suspension.

          For what it's worth, I think the guidelines as you've explained them are reasonable enough. I'd heard rumors that the Weasyl administration was not fond of babyfurs, but I'll take them with a grain of salt until solid evidence comes to the surface.

            Well, there's two sides to every story. It's possible he left out a few details, some people do when they get in the heat of the moment about getting violations on websites. We understand that happens often :)

            And naw, that's just not true. Like I said, babyfurs are fine. Really, anybody is fine, as long as they follow our Community Guidelines. Everyone is welcome on Weasyl.
