Lord of Confrontation: Dead Cry 2 by DeRiften

I finished Lord of the Rings: War in the North today. It was a pretty fun game but hot dang it was way too short. At first I took a look at the map and thought "heck yeah I'll be exploring this world for dozens of hours!", but ends up the game only takes place in a ridiculously small part of it. Why would they put this bigass map and only let you play in a small corner of it? Who knows, they're teasers and assholes. Heck, they even let you collect maps which unlock optional dungeons, but they don't work (unlocking 'em doesn't make you able to travel to 'em), so after 13 hours I was fully done with the game. I mean sure you can replay the game in Heroic and then on Legendary but that's just replaying the same 13 hours over and over again. I'm really disappointed and thankful that it was 75%, but had I known it'd be this short, I still wouldn't have bought it. After that, I figured I'd play the other games I downloaded. Tried out Confrontation, which I've had for years but had never played... it sucks. I think I got it from a humble bundle and it shows 'cause the rating's 51% so that says a lot. Then I figured I'd play Dead Space aaaaand... I tried to make it work for about two hours. "Could not initialize display hardware, please restart Dead Space" is what it says, so off to Google I went and a ridiculously big majority of gamers have the same issue with both Dead Space 1 and 2, even though the small minority who can play 'em say they're awesome. Most of the fixes people suggest are basic things like "update your drivers, check the game cache, run it in administrator mode and windows xp compatibility mode, reinstall the game, etc etc". Of course these things never work and the more obscure fixes are ridiculous, except for one of 'em that says you need to delete settings.txt. Figured I'd give it a try but the game doesn't even launch far enough to create a settings.txt so that's a big nope on that fix as well, so the only thing left I could do is post a thread on the Steam forums. I'll probably get flooded with basic and/or retarded fixes for a week or so before someone comes up with something that works, or so I hope. Next game on the list was Far Cry 3 and I know it's a good game so I figured I'd have a good time but nope. My GPU is too close to death to handle it even on Medium, so I'll have to wait till I get my new GPU (on the 15th since I got it shipped to my mom's place) before I can try it out. Finally there was only one game left in the list and that was Saints Row 2. Now I know that's a good game but... yeah you know what I'm going to say. A big nope. Y'see, the first game is a Xbox exclusive and the second game was also an exclusive for a bit before they decided to make a PC port outta it, but they really rushed it 'cause it suffers from severe port syndrome; the controls are unplayable on PC, just like GTA IV. I'll probably try again someday with a controller but for now, I was having a boredom overdose the rest of the evening. I even finished Tower of God so now I have nothing to read... again. Bah.
