Why I hate speakers by foxboyprower

As I implied in my last journal, I don't like loud speakers. Apparently being able to hear something perfectly well isn't enough for some people. So they have to damage their eardrums to fully enjoy their music. I'm fine with them enjoying music in this bizarre way if that's what they prefer, but it should not interfere with my preference of doing things in peace and relative quiet.

I mentioned before that headphones are considerate of those around you. I firmly believe if you must listen to something or blow your brains out with something that it's best to keep it to yourself. Forcing those around you to wear headphones to drown out your music is like expecting pedestrians to wear body armor to protect themselves so the drivers can enjoy getting the most out of their fast cars. The difference in scale is massive, but the one with the superior technology on hand should bear the responsibility of neutralizing the effects it has on those around them. As some guy in a comic book once said, "With great power, comes great responsibility."

I think that's enough hate for now.
