Dear Weasyl Community,

I am happy to report that things have been moving forward at a break-neck pace. The investment I made in cleaning up my resume was not in vain -- I recently got accepted to an unpaid internship as a 2D/3D animator for video games. I believe this is the first non-STEM/academic job I've had in the Western world. It's refreshing working in an office environment where the dynamic between coworkers is cooperative. That's definitely put me in for a loop.

In further news, I did make the trip to the East Cast, and am currently staying with my brother. As I suspected, the trees are shorter and rounder than in California. However, what I was surprised about was how green the grass is -- like everywhere. Even grass that clearly isn't watered is super green and healthy. The sidewalks are also much more narrow. I am considering also seeing some other friends while I am in this part of the country.

I can also say that I have successfully made a walking cycle in Blender! With this momentous step, I have transcended by animation skills from 2D to 3D. Hooray for me! :D
