So I've been thinking a lot about Splatoon 3 by Pinkolol16

I've been thinking a lot about the stories I want to make. Y'know, the thing I'm making the project for.

Although it's far from the only reason, I've had interest in 3D models since Pixar movies at a young age, just watching the VHS over and over (I was born in the late 90s and technology here is not always clean cut, DVDs only became mainstream around my middle childhood), so poking around at the inside of Nintendo games is intriguing and fascinating to me like opening a box of toys and screwing around with that.

...they're far from the only games I want to rip, but in terms of current day games, Splatoon and most other Nintendo titles are my pick-apart boxes. I have the means to get stuff from 3, I plan to import most of the versions. I haven't divulged the reasons, but as they're not too intensive, well, for Splatoon 2, I used up my save file's capacity to gain money in Salmon Run on my American copy. As I didn't want to simply play the game for nothing, and I have my own opinions on the multiplayer (I hate the specials in this game, half of them are basically impossible to use for me even when experimenting), I decided to buy two other copies so I could get Splatfest data and have more means to play Salmon Run.

Later on, when I had relationships with certain people who I wanted to keep in my lobby, this was also a bonus for me.

Now I don't particularly know anything more than anyone else knows for 3, any more than the two pieces of footage we were given (teaser and the OLED 5-second gameplay snippet), but I have a way of being able to tell precedent. Region-locked gear caught the attention of many in 2 to claim they want to go and buy the japanese version for all of the gear in 3. This is also something I plan to do as well, especially since importing is little more than a minor inconvenience for me (my only issue is shipping time, rather than the ability to do it. It often takes a fortnight for anything from overseas, regardless of location, MINIMUM, to arrive where I live. And that's without these retarded restrictions).

Something else I'm also interested in now that i'm ostracised from basically every community because I don't think the same as everyone else; I feel the lack of gender-terminology from treehouse's end of the deal is pandering beyond what I can take, I hate the americanised self-aware meme-humour they're trying to inject into the english script wherever they go (thus absolutely destroying any supposed relationship the squid sisters have with each other when both are basically cynical sand shores), and more often than not europe's themes for splatfests are actually things I would prefer to fight over than over half of the things we were given in splatoon 2 on the american end (hey, america, what happens when you don't like orange juice and are forced to pick between two sides of an argument you absolutely have no interest in choosing between). That said, yes, I believe the toilet roll one was stupid. Their worst yet to me.

As a result, I don't have any metric for how good I am at the actual game anymore. Since I don't play ranked for the same reason I refuse to touch turf war (the specials in 2 seriously suck), there's nothing to compare against. While that still won't help much, what doesn't help for me personally is that I had 3 full years before I bought two more copies (actually three but f you playasia) on my american copy, which means my speed at which I levelled up is slanted heavily in favour of my american copy, and my european and japanese ones woefully sit roughly at level 26-27 (where you unlock the neo splash, I have it on all three now)

Buying all three to play at roughly the same time will help me get a better understanding on what to do. If I use one of my english ones as a means of understanding the game, I can hopefully see what I'm doing wrong on the others and improve that. I'm going to aim to try and 100% across region. Single player experience will mostly be on one of my english copies, and my japanese ones will probably ignore that since I'm purely focusing on the region-exclusive gear. Getting money should hopefully not be a concern, splatoon is not a game that requires too much reading (hence why i'll never buy jp animal crossing lmao), so in that sense, I won't be missing much

Now I started this to talk about my stories and then trailed off into Salmon Run. I think there's a problem when you can't talk to anyone.

The approach I've been trying hasn't been working, obviously. I intended to work on these things to get them out, and then tell the stories, but time passes ridiculously fast, and since nobody in the source community actually wants to port models worth anything more than ripped out the game raw, and I'm doing this one woman alone, this is gonna be impossible to do it the way I wanted to originally.

My story is split into 3 sub-categories that which I refer to the timeline of each game. The more accurate terminology would probably be 'chapter' or 'time period' but I simply say timeline since there's a large portion of events that occur around the events of one game or another and then it moves on to the next.

So for 3, you can imagine I don't really have that much to say.

For Splatoon 1, the timeline is pretty much completely set up. Once I release every map in my project, everything in that part of the story can come to fruition. There's roughly two main strands to follow: Arie as she escapes from the depths of Octo Valley to find a life among the Inklings as they slowly grow to trust her, and the shenanigans I created with Azure, as one scrap of paper lead to chaos she had to clean up, practically by herself.

Splatoon 2 continues off this, but is more of a final stand than I realised it'd be initially. There's several events that're important to the story here. Azure gets her ending here, when she finally picks up the pieces leading to the end of her mystery, and on the Arie side, around 2-4 stories take place around that each have special places. She initially gets captured in the beginning with Violette, and Nellie, Piri and Ederie almost follow suit, but defend themselves. Arie ends up convincing some of her captors to side with her, but it's too late, and she ends up needing to be freed by some that don't seem so enthusiastic themselves.

Then there's a version of OE which I really want to tell in visual form but requires a lot of work, where the events of Arie escaping sort of indirectly completely affect the morale of all the characters who're in my version of the OE script, while happily ever afetr ensues on the surface.

There are a few minor stories involving some other Inklings, but for 3's case, I'm going to do this differently.

Around the end of 2, I made 4 characters who I envisioned as part of a new cast. Texie, Jammy, Linea, and Chanelle. All four of these were originally split but became friends due to a story I'll detail below, as this will be the main and only story I follow for 3, as the other characters are all ended since Splatsville is intended to be far away from Inkopolis.

Texie originally was quite timid, with sister Larenca and friends Pirosie and Pippea both hoping she'd grow a little out of her shell in Octo Canyon. After the defeat of Octavio at the hands of some Inklings (the Splatoon 2 version of characters), they lived there in silence as Octarians all over created a mass exodus from Octarian society after learning Octavio wasn't all they envisioned him to be. An Octoling who'd made it to the surface, Rezzie, an old friend of Arie's, contacts them under the name of 'Shidoo' in an undercover operation of her own to understand Octarian society given the changes on the surface. She asks Texie to come see her after they form a relationship, and Texie eventually musters the courage to come to the surface, eventually finding 'Shidoo,' but becomes very upset at learning she was used to understand something about Octarians Rezzie desperately wanted to understand since she wasn't able to get a solid answer on events in the past several years about the way the perception between the societies was understood (this is all tied in with coincidences Rezzie wanted solid answers to without conditioning from outside sources for). In returning to the Octarian world in Inkopolis Square, she encounters an Inkling Boy coming OUT of the grate leading to Octo Canyon, who introduces himself as Jammy, a social outcast who, while jovial, thinks the carefree nature of other Inklings is too much for him. When Texie explains her similarities, the two hit it up really well, and Jammy asks her to stay with him, which she accepts.

The two end up meeting Linea and Chanelle, an Octoling and Inkling respectively (girls), and the four as a team end up hitting it up remarkably well.

As a team, each end up meeting with Rezzie, and slowly but surely, her relationship with Texie is mended.

During this time, Rezzie and younger friend Rellie end up meeting and befriending a Smallfry, Shade. Shade is not fond of Inklings/Octolings, but equally finds disdain for the high-rush war-like nature of his fellow Salmonid. He wishes to find out why the Inklings/Octolings threaten them, as Rezzie offers to help him if he can help her understand his point of view of the eggs situation (she captures him upon arrival on the shores of Inkopolis). Eventually, the trio suspect something very bad is up, and when bidding the two goodbye, Shade pays good wishes only to his good Octolings before leaving to find the truth.

Due to his disappearance, and sightings of Salmonid in Splatsville, the two teams and related friends decide to investigate Splatsville and find out what's up.

There's a minor story I want to tie into this more as a plot thread than anything, since I'm still working out the kinks, but essentially, several characters are going to change in part of the related groups for Splatoon 3's script that I want to work. I'll put as much detail into the scripts as possible this time. I used to not, since I was under the implication I could make them visualised. But given what I know now, this is an impossibility.

So I will upload simply the characters relevant to my Splatoon 3 story in pictures to help with visual stimuli. My stories are always in script form, but I'll provide more detail when I end up releasing it. An issue I noticed people didn't like with my stories is the lack of detail I left up to the script to give me visual clues as certain visuals are related to the way certain characters interacted in the scripts I released for Splatoon 1/2.

Furthermore, since I'm aware character bloat is a thing, I'm going to try and release only the relevant ones to the story. In this particular case, it's 7 main characters, with some other minor characters to contribute in the background, merely friends covering parts I can't see the youngins doing.

I will eventually make them visualised, but that's more of a long-term ordeal now. This is so i can get what I want done while the next version is still on its way.

This is simply what happens when you end up ostracised for everything. Most people still won't and can't follow. So I'm only making compromises my way.

So I've been thinking a lot about Splatoon 3
